a full day of fun
Our day got started bright and early with Bryce's t-ball practice at 8:00 and we never slowed down. When he got home from practice, we headed to church for an Easter egg hunt.
I love this new face Emmy has been making and Bryce just looks so grown up to me in this outfit.
We left church and headed to another Easter egg hunt hosted by some of our good friends.
We attempted a group shot of the 12 kids there, but that was comical to say the least. Emmy did make a friend during the picture and started kissing on this sweet little girl, ha!
I think every sweet treat made it into Emmy's mouth!
After the egg hunt, we dropped Emmy off with Jason's parents and headed to a birthday party for one of the little girls in Bryce's class at school. Peyton had a princess bounce house party. The boys didn't seem to mind too much!
Bryce was glad to have another boy from his class there to pal around with!
It was a busy, but fun day! The best part was the weather!! I can't wait for more days like this.

good friday
Any Friday that Jason is off is a "good Friday"! In all seriousness though, we had a great day doing family things and remembering the true importance of this day.
Jason bought an old Miata last weekend so he could have a more fuel efficient and "fun" car to drive to work. Bryce was super excited about it because that meant he could ride in the front seat (in his car seat of course). Jason got everything switched over today and took Bryce for his first ride. Of course they had the top down even though it was 40 degrees outside. Where are you spring?!?
Jason went on a Segway tour of Richmond today so the kids and I decorated Easter eggs while he was gone.
I splurged this year for a more expensive set as opposed to the cheap ones with a wax crayon and stickers. I thought these were so fun. He made bunnies, frogs, a chick and a turtle!
Tonight we went out for an early dinner and then headed to the Good Friday service at church. The kids had their own service and I know Bryce really benefited from it. When I was taking him up to bed tonight I said something about good Friday and he said "Jesus died on the cross". I'm so glad that even though we do all the "fun" Easter things, Bryce still understands the real reason we celebrate Easter.

Easter party and animal sounds
Confession: I STINK at using the manual settings on our SLR. We had a program on our old computer that I could use to improve the pictures so you wouldn't know how bad of a photographer I really am. Now we have this new computer that I have no idea how to do anything with. So here are some not so great pictures of our fun day today!
Bryce had his Easter party at school today. The kids were so excited for their egg hunt. Each parent brought in 12 stuffed eggs so the kids were each allowed to find 12 eggs. Aren't their little bags the cutest?! They had cotton tails on the back!
Bryce didn't waste much time finding his 12 eggs!
He couldn't wait to get them home to see what was inside. I forgot to take a picture of all the goodies, but he loved it all!
After the egg hunt the kids came in for lunch and a craft. Our room mom is way more creative than I could ever hope to be. She helped the kids make these lilies by tracing and cutting our their hand. He was not too thrilled to take this picture for some reason!
I tried to get a video of Emmy and her animal sounds last night. She loves my phone too much so she kept trying to get it so you never really see her face, but you can hear her animal sounds for monkey, dog, and sheep.
Bryce is officially on spring break and if we're lucky, Jason has the next 4 days off for the holiday. We have lots of fun things planned for this long Easter weekend!

out of order
I should have done the last post first, but oh well. Emmy got sick yesterday morning, but I'm pretty sure she just reverted back to her baby spit up days. She acted fine the rest of the day and never showed signs of sickness. I kept her home with me just in case because I didn't want her to get sick in our new car (picture below) or anywhere while we were out. She had fun going through some of her summer clothes. We're all so ready for summer as opposed to all the snow we got today.
Kelly took Bryce and her kids to Bass Pro Shop for an Easter egg hunt and to get a picture with the Easter Bunny. We never really talk about the Easter bunny when we celebrate Easter (Bryce just thinks we give him his Easter basket), but he has picked up some things from school. He wanted to have his picture taken so we just went with it. But he already told us he didn't have to be afraid of the Easter Bunny because it's just someone in a costume (we just don't want our kid to ruin it for others).
We got a new car on Thursday! We've been looking for a while and we finally found the year we were looking for with options and such in our price range. We were so lucky to get as much for our car as we did since the 4 wheel drive wasn't working. We are also so thankful to my Nanny for her contributions to the car, making the purchase possible. Now if only the kids will get well we may be able to drive it somewhere and get out of the house.
not our typical sunday
Bryce was complaining that his stomach hurt this morning when he woke up, but we didn't think much of it. We thought he was hungry and would feel better after breakfast. Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't the best idea. He spent most of the day laying in his bed, but eventually came downstairs to watch some cartoons. He ended up falling asleep watching tv and stayed like this most of the day!
I spent most of the day watching the snowfall for the third time this month. It just snowed last Monday. I thought it was spring. They have even closed schools for tomorrow.
We had the fire on most of the day to warm us up from the cold day. Emmy enjoyed eating her snack in front of it.
Bryce had a few hours this afternoon when we thought he was feeling a little better, but then he took another turn. Poor little buddy has been such a good sport. Despite feeling so yucky he was still happy and compliant and very content resting all day.
I sure do hope we are all healthy by Easter and can enjoy some warm sunny weather!

just call me lazy
I'm not sure when I last pulled out our big camera or even the small camera in the diaper bag. We've just been doing day to day stuff, staying busy, but nothing fascinating enough to get a real camera out I guess, ha! Here are a few iphone shots from the past few weeks.
Emmy enjoyed sitting at the table in a big kid high chair at dinner last Friday night.
The grand kids were having a sleepover at MeMa and PaPa's after dinner. Emmy made sure she didn't get left behind!
Bryce and Emmy were playing basketball at my parent's house the other day and it made me think back to when we got Bryce this hoop. I think he was the exact same age as Emmy is right now.
Bryce drew me a basketball hoop on his magna doodle the other day.
Last weekend we went out and hopefully got the rest of the things Bryce will need for t-ball. His face mask for his helmet came in this week so now he is officially ready!
I'm not sure if Emmy likes going places or if she just likes wearing her jacket but she has been bringing me her hat and jacket to put on her all week.
I have no idea what this post is going to look like once it's published. I uploaded the pictures from my blogger app on my phone and then added a few more from the computer. For some reason it won't let me center things without deleting pictures and it's putting text boxes around pictures and not letting me type.........ugh! The preview box shows the caption along the side of one of my pictures. It doesn't look like this on my post screen so who knows.

these boots are made for walking
Emmy has taken off walking in the last week. I got a good video of her walking last night while we were blowing bubbles on the deck. She loved being able to chase the bubbles!

t-ball and tea
Bryce had his first t-ball practice on Thursday night and he had a lot of fun. So much so that he was excited to go back today for practice! Here he is on Thursday taking a practice swing with a fake bat before really getting to hit off the tee. I could barely figure out how to crop this picture on the new computer, let alone edit it, so sorry it's so bright!
This sport is adding up to be quite expensive. Not only did we pay for registration, we got him a bat and glove. Thankfully MeMa and PaPa got him cleats and pants for his birthday. Turns out, he also needs his own batting helmet and they have to wear gray pants for games. So we'll be heading back out to Dick's again before practice again on Tuesday. And we still have to purchase his jersey, hat, socks, belt, and trophy. Whew! Too bad he didn't like soccer, it sure was a lot cheaper!
My mom's cousin Rosabeth was in town this weekend so we headed to a local tea room for lunch. This is one of my absolute favorite places to go for lunch and they are going to be closing in April. I was so sad to hear this and wanted to go one last time. Their peanut butter pie is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted and they DIDN'T even have it today. I was so bummed. But we still had a wonderful girls day!
Happy Saturday!

computer mess
We got a new computer last week with windows 8 and it has seriously made my head spin! We're in the midst of transferring stuff from the old computer to the new computer, but since I can't figure out how to do anything on the new computer I'm just doing nothing computer related. It didn't help that our router stopped working and it took Jason two days to figure out the problem. If it weren't for Jason to get us through computer woes, I'd be calling Geek Squad every day!
Bryce had his first t-ball practice tonight. If I ever figure out how to save pictures to the new computer, you might just get to see them. Until then, it's iPhone pics.
Emmy and her necklaces crack me up!
Today was green day at school for St. Patrick's Day.
Emmy enjoyed one of Bryce's green cookies he took to share for snack.
Emmy doesn't really have enough hair for bows and she always pulls them out, but this afternoon she was adamant that I put all of them in her hair!
