memorial day weekend

We've had such a fun weekend.  Friday night we went to an arcade, dinner and ice cream with the Caddells.  We had a busy Saturday and then we spent the evening celebrating Nana's birthday.

Bryce had baseball games on Sunday.  He had a great second game.  I wish I could have captured his diving catch in center field.

Emmy spent the day at the Caddells while Bryce had baseball and then we all hung out there afterwards.

The kids spent the night at the Caddells last night and went to Top Golf today.

We were back at the Caddells tonight for a cookout.  I realized that I've never ridden on the go-kart so I let Emmy take me for a spin.  She's a good driver and I survived!

Bryce was practicing shooting the bb gun.  No fish were involved in said practice.

When the football goes in the pond you go in after it!

This was the perfect pre-summer weekend.  We still have 3 weeks of school, but it sure was nice to get a taste of what's to come!

not much to report around here

Emmy and I went and got pedicures last Saturday morning because she had a rare day off at the gym!

Last Monday was also National mimosa day.  Yes, please!

We joined a pool this summer!  It opened on Saturday and it was HOT so we went!

Headed to a moms night out after Bryce's baseball games on Sunday.  All the moms were texting that they were going casual and wearing hats so I didn't feel so bad coming from baseball!

We had such a great night!

Bryce has youth group on Sunday nights and Emmy is bummed she's not old enough yet because Chase and Taylor are there too.  We're trying to do fun things for her while he's gone.  This week Jason took her rock climbing while I was out.

He said she's a natural.

We're counting days until summer over here!

lots of baseball, emmy cuteness and mother's day

Emmy was Thomas Jefferson in the history wax museum at school this week.

We didn't quite go all out like we did when Bryce was Daniel Boone, but Ms. Barbara helped us with a costume and she looked great.

Bryce got to get out of school early for a college baseball game to celebrate his friend Charlie's birthday this week.

VMI was playing at University of Richmond.  Our high school friend Jonathan Hadra is the VMI baseball coach!

Emmy wasn't thrilled that she had to go to school all day and never gets out early so we went to Sweet Frog as a consolation.

Wednesday was the 4th of May so we played into the theme!

We celebrated Charlie's birthday again at a Flying Squirrels game on Thursday for Cinco de Mayo.

Dippin' Dots are always good!

They even had fireworks that night!

We were back out at the Diamond on Saturday night for Chase's birthday.  The conditions weren't quite as nice and we didn't stay for the fireworks that night!

Cotton candy keeps you warm, right?!

I had a nice Mother's Day today.

We went to church, had lunch at Kelly's for mother's day and Chase's birthday and then I relaxed all afternoon until Emmy's spring piano recital.

She has practiced so much and has the best teacher.  She did so well.

3 generations on Mother's Day!

I'm one lucky and blessed Mama!

champions

This week was Wild, Wild, West Wednesday for SCA spirit day.  Emmy looked so stinking cute!

Thursday night was Math and Reading night at Emmy's school.  It was so fun to be back at school for an event with students and families.

We loaded up Friday after school and headed to Blacksburg.  We had dinner downtown and then took the kids on a tour around campus.  We stumbled on a graduate who had hired the Hokie Bird for pictures and we snuck in a quick shot!

We were in town for Emmy's state gymnastics meet.

Emmy's team of 16 girls was broken into 5 competition groups so there were only three girls during her time slot.

This was Emmy's best meet of the season!  She got her personal best scores this season on vault, beam and floor and was so close to her best bar score!

3rd place on vault with a 9.2.

5th place on bars with a 9.350.

4th place on floor with a 9.450.

She placed 4th all around in the state with a 37.350!

Not only are we proud of her, she was beyond excited about her performance.  She has put in the time and effort this year and it all came together for her as this season comes to a close!

Sweet teammates.

There's no rest for the weary!  The boys were going to stay home this weekend to play baseball on Saturday, but our coach moved us to a Sunday tournament so the boys came out of town with us and then I was able to watch Bryce play baseball.  Emmy and I missed the first game so we could go to church, but the boys pulled off a win.

Bryce got hit by a pitch in the first game.  He powered through the rest of the day despite the pain and swelling!

Our boys are 13U, but played up in a 14U tournament today.  The height difference between Bryce and these kids is hilarious.

The boys lost their second game, but their stats for the day were enough to take them to the championship game and another chance to beat the team we lost to in the second game.  It was a nail biter to the very end, but they came out victorious!  Both kiddos walked away champions this weekend!
