Bath Time without Tears

Bath time was a success last night!! Bryce didn't cry before, during, or after his bath. I don't know what clicked this time, but I hope it continues. I think the key is Daddy! I do the washing and the shampooing, but Jason does the preparation. He must have gotten the bath water the perfect temperature and the perfect amount in the tub! Isn't he so cute......even if looks slightly like ET in the picture!

Happy Friday

We bundled up and went to Bruster's last night for ice cream. We thought Bryce looked so cute in this silly hat so we took some pictures before we left. Do you notice that he is looking at the camera? We were so amazed and excited during this photo shoot because Bryce followed Jason every where he went with the camera. It's so exciting that he is starting to notice his surroundings. It's amazing what can happen in a month!

One Month

Bryce is a month old today!! We had to go the pediatrician today, so we made it a family affair. Bryce is up to 9lbs (up from 7.10 at birth) which puts him in the 25-50 percentile for weight. He is 21 3/4 inches long (up from 21 at birth) which puts him in the 50-75 percentile for height. His head was 14 1/2 inches and he is in the 25 percentile for that. He is a growing boy. I wasn't feeling well last night so Jason decided in order for me to get a good night sleep, Bryce needed to sleep in his crib in his room instead of the bassinet in our room. He did really well. We only had to get up once because he was fussing for reasons other than food. Jason stayed home today and let me sleep all afternoon. Hopefully I have finally gotten rid of my fever and will be back to normal tomorrow!

Rolling Over

I didn't know babies could roll over at 3 1/2 weeks, but Bryce did!! Here is a picture to prove it. He did it all by himself, TWICE. So maybe it was just a fluke, but a mom can get excited......can't she?!? I was going to post some bath time pictures to show you how much Bryce hates a bath, but none of them were blog appropriate!!

Pictures for Daddy

Bryce was in a good mood this morning so I decided to play a little dress up with him. Jason isn't one to be interested in clothes for the baby, but he sure does love the SHOES. He bought these shoes for Bryce a long time ago. He won't be able to wear them for long so I decided to break them out today. We hope you like the picture, Daddy!!

Tummy Time

Chase let us borrow his "girly" tummy time mat. I'm not sure Bryce really likes it yet, but the nurses said to start tummy time right away. He is starting to pick his head up a little bit, but he still likes to have his head turned toward the side. At least I was able to get a good picture of his face!

Love the Swing

Bryce loves his swing....most of the time. He looks like he is on a roller coaster ride in this picture. As you can tell by the unbuckled straps, it really isn't like a roller coaster. Don't anyone report us because he is not properly strapped in!!

I just had to post this picture because you can obviously see that he has a mouth and two lips. In most pictures his lips are together and he has his bottom lip sucked in so far you wouldn't know he had a bottom lip.

2 weeks

Little man is 2 weeks old today. He is doing great. We went back to the pediatrician yesterday and got a good report. Apparently he likes to eat like his mommy because he is definitely gaining weight. He was 7.10 when he was born. He had gotten down to 7 and he was 7.1 when we left the hospital on Sunday. When we went to the doctor the following Tuesday he was 7.5. We went to the doctor yesterday (Tuesday) and he was a whopping 7.14!! Hopefully we don't have a little chunkster on our hands.

Prayer Boy

Bryce is already learning how to pray. He doesn't have his hands crossed just right, but close enough. How sweet!

This is our favorite Bryce face. It's his I'm done eating/I need to stretch/sleep face.

Sweet Dreams

Bryce is a peaceful sleeper and he must have happy dreams because he always smiles while he is sleeping. His eyes are slightly open in this picture, but believe it or not, he was sleeping. Sorry I chopped the top of his head, but I was using my camera (not Jason's fancy one) so I had to snap fast so I didn't miss the smile. I want everyone to come visit Bryce because he looks cute in pictures, but they just don't do him justice.

Macy & Bryce

Macy loves her new little brother. We used to think Macy was little (weighing in at 8.5 lbs), but next to Bryce, she looks huge. Macy is going to be very protective of Bryce. How cute!

Stork

We were greeted by this adorable stork when we got home from the hospital. I should have posted this a while ago, but yesterday was the first day we got outside to take a picture. At least we were able to capture the snow!

Thumbs Up!

Bryce has already found his thumb! He's not sure what to do with his other four fingers when he is sucking on his thumb. He usually holds all of them straight up in the air.

Macy

Macy girl still isn't sure what to think about Bryce. She follows us around wherever we go and she seems very concerned when Bryce is crying. She always wants to be touching him if she can. She still gets plenty of attention, but by the looks of this picture, she is trying to take Bryce's place since he has moved in on her territory.

Bryce and his Daddy

I just love this picture. This is the first time we got to see Bryce after a long day of waiting for them to assess him. Jason looks so happy and Bryce looks so cute! LOVE my boys!

Bryce and his Great Grandparents

It was love at first sight when Nanny and Bryce met. Nanny and Poppy came up for the day to visit with us before the snow got here.

Poppy enjoyed holding Bryce and getting to know him. Hopefully we will be able to take Bryce to see Nanny and Poppy before long. Who knows when we will be ready for a road trip.

My Dad and Vivian and my Grandparents met Bryce on Thursday. This is the first grandchild for my dad and the first great grandchild for my grandparents. He loves all the attention from the family.

Welcome Home

After an extended stay in the hospital, we were finally able to come home this morning! The pediatrician called us at 8:00 this morning to tell us we had a healthy baby boy! We were so excited to hear that his fever had gone down, he had gained some weight, and all his other tests looked great! It was not fun staying in the hospital longer than we expected, but it is great to know that Bryce was under such good care. Now it looks like we will be snowed in with our little bundle of joy if we get all the snow they are calling for. I know my students are going to be looking forward to a snow day.
