little artist

After a day full of baseball, we raced over to a local High School where Bryce had artwork on display at the county's annual Arts and Science Festival.

He had one drawing on display that he had done in art class and a Science project he had done for his class.

It was an exciting day for this big boy of ours!

opening day

Today was opening day at the kids' little league.  Bryce has already had a few games, but today was the official start with fun activities.

Bryce is on the Giants and Emmy on the Pirates.

Emmy has a little friend from Sunday school on her team so that has made it fun!

The kids' games overlapped today so I only saw a little of Byrce's and what I didn't see, Jason didn't video.  So I don't have any thing to show for his great play at second base and a stellar hit, but just know he's a stud!

Emmy rocked her first at bat and was ready to run the bases.

She got to play first base and pitcher!

Every ball was hit right back to her and she was able to get all of them and throw them to first.  She even made one out!

There was a dunk tank fundraiser that Emmy decided to do because her friend Easton was doing it.  Amazingly, she was successful.

Despite the dreary day, nothing was cancelled and we had a great day!

kindergarten registration

Kindergarten registration was today and Emmy was so excited to go.  She's spent a lot of time at her new school over the last few years since Bryce has been there.  That made this process easier for me since we're familiar with the school and people!  It was still so bittersweet knowing I'm getting closer to letting her go!

Bryce's kindergarten teacher spotted us as soon as we got there and swept Emmy up to do her evaluation!

We sure hope she's her teacher next year!

I'm going to miss this girl so much next year!

cozumel

While the kids were on spring break last week (having a grand time with Nana and MeMa and PaPa), Jason and I took a little trip to Cozumel.  This guy of mine is one of a kind in his "traveling suit" as he called it.  I mean I guess it was perfect for traveling to Mexico!

Jason made lots of new friends in that suit.  I was thankful for the conversation he struck up with the flight attendant on the first flight.  Free wine!!

We had arrived in paradise and were greeted with champagne at check in and all the fixings for tequila shots, ha!  We stayed at the Secrets Aura and they did everything just right.

Our room was ready when we got there so we headed straight to the beach.  Turns out Jason didn't realize he booked us in the preferred/VIP section so we had the best of the best.  I mean check out this set up!

I'm already missing this view.

Most of our meals were overlooking the water.

My mornings started like this everyday!  Hello, all inclusive!

The views were picture perfect.

Our section of beach was much nicer than others thanks to the VIP upgrade!

We didn't see much wildlife while there, but this guy was hanging out by the pool one day.

I'm so thankful for this guy.  He works so hard so we can take trips like this and he deserved a much needed break!

There were drinks for days!

The views were just breathtaking.

Bananas right outside our room.

I enjoyed relaxing and getting to read 3 books!

I think I like the idea of a swim up bar!

I enjoyed a massage on the beach one day!

Jason went on a scuba diving excursion while I got my massage.

Our resort had a coconut party with pretty drinks one afternoon.

It doesn't get much better than this.

This guy is all mine!

We had sushi one night on the rooftop.

I was fascinated by the swings at one of the pool bars!

We had a midday flight home so we were able to soak in a little more sun and sand before we headed back.

Cheers to an amazing trip with my wonderful husband!

yard work

We've been doing some spring sprucing around the house and we've had great help.

The kids loved helping me mulch a new flower bed.  Of course I don't have pictures of it!  This is what happens when you decide to go to Home Depot while you're already out and don't have the truck with the 8ft bed.  Tight squeeze!

Once we finished the first round of projects, we went back for more!

I just love how this arrangement looks!

Happy Spring!

Easter celebrations

Way back on April 5, Emmy had her preschool Easter party!

She got a bag full of goodies.

Back inside, the kids did some activities and had lunch.  I whipped up this pretty Pinterest inspired treat!

Bryce had his spring party on the Friday of that week.  They hunted eggs, dyed eggs with shaving cream (it was a major fail) and had lunch, but this was all I had to show for it!

Then on Saturday we had our annual egg hunt at church.

The kids got to help with the Easter story.

There were 5,000 eggs to be found.

We'll be eating candy for days!

We had a week of spring break before the rest of the Easter festivities continued.  This past Saturday we went to an annual egg hunt hosted by some of our good friends and their parents.

This guy is so handsome.

My friend makes the best looking and tasting sugar cookies.

The group has grown over the years.

You can always find this little monkey in a tree.

The kids got some beach themed treats for Easter.

Easter cuties.

Jason bought this suit for our Cozumel trip (post on that to come) and insisted on wearing it for Easter.

Love these babies of mine.

Family picture at church.

We had lunch, an egg hunt, and a wiffle ball game at Jason's Grandma's after church.

MeMa and PaPa and the kids.

We had dinner with my mom to finish out the fun day!

It was a wonderful day!
