lots of summer fun

The kiddos sure have had a fun summer.

Chase and Taylor got to announce players during an inning at a Squirrels game one night.

We made it to the splash park.

We went to Chuck E Cheese with my mom and Nanny one day and ran into Chase and Taylor while we were there.  That was a fun surprise!

It took us all summer, but we made it to the water park at Kings Dominion.

Bryce hasn't done tennis camp for the past two summers so we said we'd make a point to go and play on our own.  We went once!

Emmy and her friend Lily at a gymnastics friends skating party.

We made another trip to Kings Dominion this week.

We did rides and the water park!

The nights are getting shorter and I don't like it.  But there is still plenty of time for ice cream after dinner.

The weather was beautiful yesterday with low humidity and cooler temperatures so we headed to Maymont!

We went to King of Pops on the way home!

MeMa and PaPa took the kids to Virginia Beach today where Chase and Taylor are vacationing.

We've got a fun week planned next week to wrap up summer!  I can't believe it's almost over.

Cincinnati

We headed out to Kentucky/Ohio last week with my mom and Nanny for our final vacation of the summer.

Our first stop was the Ark Encounter.

The size of the ark is fascinating.

The grounds around the ark were beautiful.

There was a zoo/petting zoo around the ark.  The weather wasn't great that day so many of the exhibits were closed, but we still saw a few animals.  How cute is this joey in the mother's pouch?!

After we visited the ark, we went to the Creation Museum.  They also had a petting zoo and their animal rides were open!  The kids were stoked to ride a camel.

The Creation Museum had kid friendly things, but I think it was geared toward a little older audience.

Our second day took us to the Cincinnati Zoo.  The zoo was beautiful with tons of exhibits that captured our attention for the entire day!

We went to a Reds game on our last day there.  It was lots of fun and they won!

We ended our day at a local mall with a two story carousel.

Some of the food was just as good as the attractions!

Emmy's 1st lost tooth

Emmy lost her first tooth today!

Once she realized it was loose, it took about two weeks for it to come out.  She pulled it right out herself!

Already for the tooth fairy!

15 year anniversary

Jason and I went away for a long weekend to celebrate our 15th anniversary.

We had an early flight to Boston and were in the city by 10:00.  We started at the beginning of the freedom trail because it was close to our hotel.  We toured a few of the ships in the harbor and then had lunch at Pier 6.

After lunch we hopped on a trolley and rode around and got off too see the sights.  The Boston Tea Party ships were a must.

It was HOT in Boston so we cooled off with ice cream.

Jason arranged for us to stay on a houseboat for the night.  It was such a cute little thing.

We enjoyed a yummy anniversary dinner.

We ended the day with drinks on our porch!

The next morning we were up early to drive to Hyannis to catch our ferry to Nantucket!

I have fallen in love with Nantucket after reading Hilderbrand and Thayer books so Jason suggested this as our anniversary destination.  He's a keeper!

We dropped our bags at our inn and then rented a moped and scooted around the island.

The next morning we strolled around town until breakfast.  We ate at Met on Main and oh my goodness, Jason's cookie dough pancakes may be my best memory from Nantucket!

After breakfast we changed and took the moped out to the beach!

The water was 68 degrees but didn't seem that cold.

We enjoyed some drinks at the beach cafe before heading back to town to return our moped.

The buildings and flower boxes were my favorite.

We ate lots of yummy food (that I didn't document well).  Jason made sure to get a lobster roll and we frequented the The Juice Bar a few times for ice cream!

Nantucket was such a quaint little town.

This trip was a perfect way to celebrate 15 years of wedded bliss!
