a few things

Emmy got asked to Homecoming this week!  Cute proposal for a Dr. Pepper loving gal.  

We've had some crisp fall nights this week.  I love summer, but I'll take a few cooler nights here and there, but looking forward to a few more days in the eighties next week. 

Our neighbor sent me this picture of Bryce at the football game the other night.  Anytime I see pictures of him at school events, I am convinced he has made the most of his high school experience.  

Emmy got to tag along with Jason's cousin Josh to his "favorite day of the year", the state fair, tonight.  Josh doles out money to the kids when they get there and they have a blast.  Jason and Bryce are going to the fair on Wednesday for a school trip and are hoping to have some fun while they're there.

Bryce did one last HOCO proposal.  I thought this was clever for their fourth and final homecoming.  The shadows and lighting were bad so I had Chat GPT fix it up so they may look a little askew.

The school has spirit week during homecoming week.  The last day wrapped up with music genres.  Bryce's friends may have taken the pop music theme to the hip hop level, but whatever.

Baseball buddies 

They always have a big group.  One of the girls hosted dinner at her house since they are too big to go out.  They had an event tent with tables, chairs, fairy lights, and flowers. 

The girls are best friends and so are the boys. 

They made shirts with baby/kid pictures of their dates for the after party. 

just another week

Emmy went on a fun field trip on Tuesday.

We got ice cream on Wednesday to celebrate what would have been PaPa's 70th birthday. 

I went out with some friends for a birthday celebration on Friday night.  We were escorted in a limo!

Bryce had a volleyball tournament Friday and Saturday and then went to a concert with friends on Saturday night.  

Bryce also had a baseball tournament this weekend.  He missed the games Saturday to play volleyball, but he was available on Sunday.  We drove all the way to Portsmouth just for the game to get rained out.  Chase drove over from CNU to watch so we took him to lunch to make his trip worthwhile since there was no baseball.  

Today was my first day of school.  I'll be doing reading intervention this year.  

labor day weekend

School is in full swing and we've settled into a routine.  We're enjoying a couple of volleyball games a week.  When Jason's dentist retired, he had more time for photography.  He enjoys attending sporting events in our county and we are so appreciative when he snaps pictures of Bryce.

Bryce went to South Carolina this past weekend with Avery to visit her family and go to a Gamecock football game.

I think he liked the campus.  He is interested in applying to some SEC schools but knows we are more than likely not paying out of state tuition.  

We were at a different school watching our own football game on Saturday.  We were gifted some tickets, so we invited some friends and gave them their first Hokie football experience.  

Our friend's parents who gave us the tickets also invited us to their tailgate.

Emmy didn't mind not watching any football this weekend.  She was just as happy to join her friend at Colonial Beach for the day.  

We rang in summer with our neighbors over Memorial Day weekend, so we figured we'd send it out in style on Labor Day too.
