Easter weekend

Emmy was out of school on Good Friday so we decorated sugar cookies with our free time!

I'm no artist but I enjoy decorating cookies.

Bryce got out of school early for a baseball tournament on Friday.  They won both of their games and advanced to the championship on Saturday.  Bryce had a banner day.  He started and played all of both games.  He had 4 RBIs, 1 triple and a single.

Jason and Emmy played putt-putt on Saturday while we waited for Bryce to warm up for the championship game.  Whoever thought to put putt-putt at a baseball complex was genius.

Bryce was a starter again and his team won the championship.  Icing on the cake was they beat the only team they've lost to in the regular season, so it was sweet redemption!

These guys are good buds, and they were freshman starters in the championship game.

Bryce and Brayden have been playing travel ball together for the past five years and now they're school ball teammates!

I took this picture of them last year and I can't get over how much Bryce has grown this year!

We started our Easter Sunday with some fun treats!

We did Easter a little differently this year.  Jason and I went to our church's sunrise service since we wouldn't be attending our normal worship service.  One of our friends hosted an outdoor service so our friends the Yonces could attend since they have been limiting their indoor events while their son was receiving chemo treatments.

There were songs and scripture readings from the kids and then we streamed our church's message.

After service we enjoyed lunch and an egg hunt before the rain started.  We were lucky enough to have lots of sun in the morning though!

Bryce is something else!  That's all I can say!

Girl gang!

It was a wonderful day celebrating our risen savior!

Happy Easter!

this week flew by. don't they all?

Welp, this is all I've got this week!

Emmy is working on new skills at the gym!

Bryce has watched a lot of March Madness this weekend!

To summarize our week, we go to work/school, we taxi kids, we go to so some kind of appointment (this week was a well visit and two allergist appointments), we taxi kids, and we squeeze in errands in between taxiing kids.  Spring break is in reach and we're ready for it!  We don't have anything planned, but I for one am looking forward to a change of pace from the daily grind.

a good week

We somehow managed to have an evening with time to get ice cream and do a little shopping after dinner one night this week.  Jason was in Chicago, but the three of us enjoyed our night together.

We celebrated pi day!

Bryce was a starter in the outfield at Friday's game and ended up playing the whole game!  The Raiders got their second win of the season.

He had three good at bats but didn't get a hit.

He had one play out in right.

Jason and I got all fancied up on Saturday night for the ASK Gala.  ASK is a local organization that helps families going through childhood cancer.

Our friends the Yonce's have a son who was diagnosed with bone cancer back in July.  This organization has loved on their family and helped them in so many ways.  They were the featured family for the event and 3 million dollars was raised!

It was a fun night for a good cause!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a little green today!

baseball, basketball, and a baptism

Bryce made the Atlee JV baseball team.  To say we're all excited is an understatement.  We're looking forward to a fun season.

Bryce went to a UR basketball game with Avery's family on Wednesday.

After youth group on Thursday night Emmy told me she was ready to get baptized!  There's nothing better than your kids deciding to follow Jesus and dedicate their life to Him!

Such a sweet moment for this daddy daughter duo!

Congrats Emmy!

a busy weekend

I went out to dinner with friends on little Friday (Thursday).  We try to get together once a month and it's always a good time.

We headed to VA Beach on Friday afternoon for the Shamrock Invitational.  Emmy had a decent night and did amazing on her floor routine.  She will only compete this routine one more time.  She has perfected it over the past two seasons, and it shows!  She got a 9.7.  This is her highest score on this routine as well as her highest floor score ever, as well as her highest score on anything, ever!

There was a tie for 1st place (which counts as 1st and 2nd), so Emmy and a teammate tied for 3rd.

We drove home from the beach late Friday night so Emmy could head to Massanutten on Saturday to celebrate a friend's birthday.

They enjoyed the water park on Saturday.

And they went snow tubing on Sunday.

I'm so glad she's found a group of close friends this year at her new school.
