my birhday

I love a good birthday celebration!  My friends from church had a fun evening planned for me last night.  Moms night out!!

Our original plan was to hop around to three local roof top bars in the city, but they're still overly popular and hard to get space for a big group so after the first stop, we diverted the plan.

Elevator selfies are a must!

After drinks on the roof top at Quirk, we went right next door to Bar Solita for tapas.

The food was SO good!  I think we ordered one of everything!

After dinner we headed to a new dessert spot, Sugar Sweet Dessert Café and Bar.

Now that's a piece of birthday cake!

Today on my actual birthday, we went to church and then all the family went to lunch (I got sushi) and then headed to my mom's for cake and presents.

Here's to another wonderful year!

sandbridge

We all look forward to a week at the beach every summer.  We have been going to Florida for the past few summers, but we were excited to go back to Sandbridge this summer since it's so close.  We all got to the beach house Saturday evening and the kids found their way right to the pool.

After dinner I found my way right to the dock on the small waterway behind our house.  Ended up being my favorite spot of the week.

Bryce did a little fishing after dinner.

Day one on the beach brought lots of sun and fun.

Day two was much of the same!

Day 3 started off a little cloudy, but it quickly cleared for another fun day.

My mom and Jason's aunt and grandma joined us this year.  Dave had already been down at the beach the week before with his family so he missed out on our week.

Day four was another fun day!

We spent the mornings on the beach and then came up for lunch and pool time most days.

Jason and I got a little date night while the rest of the crew went shopping.

Day five was full of more sun and fun.

The ice cream truck is a Whitlock family tradition.

Jason finally let me ditch my life jacket on my second round on the paddle board!

We brought Nana's golf cart with us and Jason engineered a beach cart to haul us all to the beach every morning.

Beach pictures are always a must.

Jason set an alarm on the last day so we could catch the sunrise.  So pretty!

No better way to end the last day at the beach!

It was a fun week with family!

little libraries

The kids cleaned out their bookshelves today and came up with 100 books.  We decided to ride around to local schools and businesses and donate the books to Little Libraries.

Our first stop was the kids' school.  We tidied up the library and added some new titles.

We went over to the school where I used to teach and filled their library too.

We went to our local YMCA and filled their library.

We also went to one other local elementary school to round out our donations!  The kids had a great time doing it and it was a great way to give back!

summer tournament

Bryce had an impromptu summer tournament today.

Jason took him to the first two games because I was celebrating a friends birthday after church, but I was able to make it to the last game.  They came up short in the third game after a long hot day, but I made it for the last game in time to see Bryce have a great hit.

The boys played in an 11U tournament as 10s so second place was great!

Now the boys will play as 11s as they kick of their season at the end of August.
