Trunk or Treat

This year's costumes made traveling for treats a bit difficult so Nana and Nanny came to us!

And instead of candy they brought Starbucks gift cards and cash!  SCORE!

It was fitting that we did Wheel of Fortune for our trunk since the kids tagged along to the auditions last weekend!  We put it together last minute so we opted not to have a wheel.  I think we may do it again next year with a wheel and Jason and I will be Pat Sajak and Vanna White.  Jason already had his costume for this year (which I failed to photograph) so maybe next year we'll improve on it!

Bryce was a "wobbly car dealership dude".

The cousins!  Clearly the inflatable costumes were a big hit this year!

Emmy the flamingo!

We had a fun night.  My picture taking was lacking so I didn't get any of the other trunks, but there were some good ones!

all the other things

Bryce won his class spelling bee and it going to the grade level bee next week!

Crazy Halloween teeth!

We made Halloween treat for their teachers.  You just plop a candy corn on top and viola!  They're so good!

The kids went with Kelly and MeMa to the Wheel of Fortune auditions when they were in town last weekend!

The kids have started getting an allowance this school year and are learning to tithe and save.  Bryce has spent a few dollars here and there, but this week he spent every last penny on something he really wanted!

HOKIES

Our friends stumbled on some free tickets to last night's Virginia Tech vs Georgia Tech game and invited us along for the ride!

It's been a LONG time since we've been to a game at Tech!

The seats were pretty amazing!  The padded seat/back rest was pretty nice too!

There were some firework worthy moments early in the game.

By half time, there wasn't much to talk about except the sweet marching band formations!

While it was an ugly game, the trip and experience with friends was fun!

RBA

Bryce's baseball season got off to a late start because of rain, but they've had some good games when they did play!

They ended up in 2nd place at this particular tournament.

The weather had been pretty nice, but it got really cold, really fast which make watching baseball not so fun!

The cold made it hard to play too!  The boys didn't have their best day at the last tournament, but they played hard against some great teams.

Ice cream and sour patch kids make it all worth it when you're 9!

We've got one more weekend of games left.  I hope!

pumpkin carving

Pumpkin carving has definitely gotten easier (for Jason) as the kids have gotten older.  They were both very willing to scoop out the guts of their pumpkins and do most of the carving!

They each made their own designs this year so we didn't have to spend too much time sawing intricate details.

So proud!

All lit up!

Bryce made an American Flag blowing in the breeze!

The pumpkin was almost as big as him!

Stars and Stripes!

kings dominion

We got in one last visit to Kings Dominion this morning!

Emmy can't wait to grow a little so she can ride the big rides with Bryce!

Everybody usually wants to ride with Jason, but I'm pretty fun too!

Everything was decorated for fall/Halloween!

We hope to go back at Christmas to check out the first year of Winterfest!

apple pickin'

Hurricane Michael blew through yesterday and left it's mark on our area so we had an unexpected day off of school today.  Jason was off so we decided to head up to the mountains for some apple picking.  Of course we visited a local donut shop for breakfast to celebrate a Friday off from school.

Fuji apples are our favorite!

He's the apple of my eye!

There was still a good selection when we went.

We had a contest to see who could be the biggest granny smiths for Jason.  Emmy won!

They're just the cutest.

I love these babies of mine!

It's a must to get a worm picture when we go to this orchard.

We have a picture of Bryce in this apple when he was less than a year old!

After apple picking, we eat donuts!

Donuts for breakfast and a snack make for a great day.

I opted for the drinks instead of the donuts!

Love my people!

Awww!!!

We took a hayride before we left.

Jason took us on a little fishing excursion after the orchard and then we had dinner at a yummy pizza place before heading home!  I love making fall memories!
