welcome fall

Bryce is staying busy watching school sports in the evenings!

Friday night was football against a rival team.

We lost, but they had fun!

Tropical storm Ophelia blew in on Friday night but still gave us a beautiful sunset.

While Bryce was watching football in the rain on Friday, I was enjoying a cozy evening at home.

Donuts made getting up early on a rainy Saturday for gym a little easier.

It's fall and a tropical storm, but the hummingbirds are still here!

A rainy first day of fall called for chili and football.

Rainy days are also good for baking!

Bryce was supposed to have an out-of-town baseball tournament, but it was canceled due to the storm.  We didn't complain about a laid-back weekend at home.

Happy Fall!

not much to report around here

Not a lot of picture taking when we’re in our normal routine!  Taylor had a home volleyball game on Thursday so we took Emmy while Bryce stayed after school for a baseball workout.

We went out to dinner with some of our friends on Friday night.  It was a beautiful evening and we were able to eat outside!

We went to the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new building at Emmy’s school on Saturday.  It’s a really great space!

Hopefully I’ll snap a few more pictures this week to capture the day to day around here.

back in the swing of things

Both of the kids have a busy fall sports schedule and neither one of them are home on the same night right now.  We try to take advantage of time with each one when we can.  Bryce has baseball practice on Tuesday nights, so we took Emmy for a golf cart ride at Nana's this week.

Emmy had gymnastics on Wednesday night, so we went to Bryce's back-to-school night and then he watched his girlfriend's field hockey game and asked her to homecoming.  I bought the school-colored stickers, and he literally did the rest.  He did a great job!  And she said yes!

Emmy went to youth group with friends on Thursday night.  Bryce was going to a school football game, but it got cancelled due to weather so he hung out with friends instead.  We ended up losing power during the storm.

Emmy's school is right down the street from our house, and they lost power during the storm too.  Which meant she got a day off from school on Friday!  It wasn't great not having power for over 20 hours since it's been in the 100's this week, but we made it.  Nana just got home from Florida, so we went out to lunch with her and enjoyed some air conditioning.  Emmy went and swam at a friend's house after lunch, so it was a great day for her!

Bryce had a baseball tournament on Saturday, and he got to debut his new baseball number.  He retired his number 34 and now he's number 17 in memory of PaPa.

Today would have been PaPa's 67th birthday.  We celebrated him after church with lunch at his favorite restaurant.

And of course, we went out for ice cream!

We sure do miss him, but know he's celebrating big in heaven!

braces and middle school

Emmy got braces on Monday!  She was in a bit of pain for a couple of days and couldn't figure out what was going on in her mouth, but she has gotten used to them, and the pain has subsided!

Monday afternoon was Emmy's turn to tour her new school and meet her teachers.  She's excited to go in knowing some friends and even has one in most of her classes.

I can't even believe she's in middle school.

We had fun picking out uniform clothes this summer.  She can wear any combination of khaki, navy, burgundy, white and gray.

Have a great year Emmy girl!
