back in the swing of things

Both of the kids have a busy fall sports schedule and neither one of them are home on the same night right now.  We try to take advantage of time with each one when we can.  Bryce has baseball practice on Tuesday nights, so we took Emmy for a golf cart ride at Nana's this week.

Emmy had gymnastics on Wednesday night, so we went to Bryce's back-to-school night and then he watched his girlfriend's field hockey game and asked her to homecoming.  I bought the school-colored stickers, and he literally did the rest.  He did a great job!  And she said yes!

Emmy went to youth group with friends on Thursday night.  Bryce was going to a school football game, but it got cancelled due to weather so he hung out with friends instead.  We ended up losing power during the storm.

Emmy's school is right down the street from our house, and they lost power during the storm too.  Which meant she got a day off from school on Friday!  It wasn't great not having power for over 20 hours since it's been in the 100's this week, but we made it.  Nana just got home from Florida, so we went out to lunch with her and enjoyed some air conditioning.  Emmy went and swam at a friend's house after lunch, so it was a great day for her!

Bryce had a baseball tournament on Saturday, and he got to debut his new baseball number.  He retired his number 34 and now he's number 17 in memory of PaPa.

Today would have been PaPa's 67th birthday.  We celebrated him after church with lunch at his favorite restaurant.

And of course, we went out for ice cream!

We sure do miss him, but know he's celebrating big in heaven!
