Puppy Love

Meet Max the Cockapoo

Kelly, Dave, Jason and I got Charles and Peggy a puppy for Christmas! We dressed him up in Macy's old Santa suit and wrapped him up in a box (don't worry he was only in there for a minute). Charles was a bit worried when we set the box on his lap and it started moving! We were very worried that they would not be as excited about the puppy as we were. I think it was love at first site so we had nothing to worry about!

9 weeks to go

It's hard to believe I only have 9 weeks to go! It is a shame that my face is as round as my belly and they are both growing at the same pace. I'm hoping I lose the baby weight in my face just as fast if not sooner than the belly bump! I go to the doctor January 2, so hopefully I will have more details about my progress. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas!

Christmas Card

Here is the picture from our Christmas card in case we didn't send you one. If we didn't send you one it's just because we don't know your address, so don't take it personal! I was hoping to update the blog with a picture of me every two weeks from here on out, but I'm already behind. I will try to post one soon.

12 weeks to go....

I guess the countdown can begin. Some say I'm not going to make it 12 more weeks, but I disagree. The doctor hasn't said that, so I'm sticking with the original date until I hear otherwise. However, I would agree that I'm officially wider than the Christmas tree! Jason and Macy had a photo session with the new camera tonight. Be on the lookout for the 2008 Whitlock Christmas card in a mailbox near you!

Almost 6 months

I personally like the view from the front the best, but I know you can't see the progress of the belly bump.
So, here I am from the side! I can only imagine how big my belly is going to be at the end of all this.

Nursery (a work in progress)

The nursery is beginning to look more like a baby's room! My parents painted for us on Monday and I love the colors we chose (thanks Beth). If we ever settle on a name, we are going to put his name on the wall behind the crib. I promise to post another picture of me soon. Jason and I just need to be at home at the same time for more than 10 minutes so we can get a picture.

Belated Halloween

As promised, here is a picture of Macy in her lobster Halloween costume. She was only in it long enough for the picture. You can tell by the look on her face that she was not very fond of it! Believe it or not, we actually took this picture on Halloween. We just have too much going on these days to get the posts up on the blog.

Jason's Success

Grace told me that there were requests for more pictures, so what you see is what you get. Grace and I don't see each other enough to take any actual pregnancy pictures, but hopefully soon. This deer was a milestone for me on two fronts. First and most importantly, this is the largest deer I have ever taken. Secondly, this was my first ever muzzleloader kill. Although this is a very nice 8 pointer, I decided not to have it mounted in hopes of something bigger some day. I took the antlers to work and they have become a very popular conversation piece. Grace will return to her blogging duties with pictures of herself shortly.

Oh Boy!

Please ignore the big round face with no make-up (it's the end of the day). This picture was intended to show off my cool new shirt. Thanks Kate-Dog! Of course my photographer husband thought this would be the best angle to get the words on the shirt AND my huge face!

"You Look Enormous"

Here I am at 5 months. As Jason is looking through the camera lens to take the picture he says, "You Look Enormous". Of course he is referring to the big belly being enormous, which I don't mind. I look at the picture and all I see is an enormous round face and an enormous arm! Oh Well.

Pumpkins (scroll down because I added an ultrasound picture)

We didn't want anyone to forget about Macy in all the baby bliss! I can assure you that she is getting plenty of attention. She had fun helping us pick out pumpkins on Sunday. I promise I will post a picture of her in her lobster costume once I get around to taking her picture.

Apple Pickin'

We went to Charlottesville to pick apples on Saturday. It was about 80 degrees so it didn't really feel like fall, but we still had a good time. We got lots of apples and most importantly, we got the apple cider donuts. We are looking forward to continuing our apple pickin' tradition next year when we have a little one to take with us. He may not be able to experience much of it, but it will make for a good picture!!

It's a Boy!

Here is our little boy! Isn't he cute?!? He weighed 12 ounces on the day of the ultrasound. We got to see his bladder, kidneys, and his heart beating. All of those things looked healthy and normal. The doctor measured his head and belly and length of his arms and legs. She kept saying what a round belly he has. He doesn't want me to be the only one with a round belly! We watched him rock his head back and forth and open his mouth. We were both shocked when the doctor said it was a boy. We had thought it was a girl for so long that we didn't know how to respond to the news. I think Jason's words were "Is that right? Are you sure?" We are very excited and we are looking forward to his arrival. No names yet. (Grant, thanks for the suggestion!)

1 more week (not until the baby comes, even though it may look like it)

We go to the doctor one week from today!! We are very excited about finding out if baby Whitlock is a boy or a girl :). I'm about 19 weeks along or about 4 1/2 months. I'm not very excited about getting on the scale next week, but oh well! That's all for today. Look for another upday next Thursday!!!

Nursery Furniture

Here is a picture of the nursery furniture we bought. It should be here in a couple of weeks! We are hoping we will know if we are having a boy or a girl by the time we go and pick up the furniture so we can look at the bedding while we are there. No picture of me this time, but I can tell you that I'm still growing! I went to a baby shower last weekend and my belly was only about an inch smaller around than Sondra's, who was 7 months pregnant. Pretty sad! We measured my belly the other day and it was 38" around. I wish we had been measuring all along, but at least we can measure until the end.

15 Weeks or as Jason would say "Barefoot and Pregnant"

I had originally thought that it was me who wasn't taking very good pictures, but I decided it's my photographer, hehe. Jason insisted on using this picture. He keeps saying "barefoot and pregnant". I don't know what his obsession is, but I just keep thinking he wanted everyone to see the new carpet. I think Macy might like the carpet more than we do!! I went to the doctor today and I only gained 3 pounds in between visits this time, thank goodness! However, I have been asked by multiple people if there is any chance there is more than one in there. By the looks of this picture at only 15 weeks, you may be thinking the same thing. I don't mind the big belly, but I don't think it really looks that big in person (Jason says it does). The nurse said the baby was really active yesterday because the heartbeat was 170 beats per minute. Jason and I go back on October 9th for the big reveal so mark your calendars, but don't everyone call at once!!

P.S. - Jason wants everyone to know it's not all about me. He would like to publicize the fact that he killed 2 geese on opening day!!

First Day of School

I wasn't going to post anymore side shots, but I had too much arm fat in the front shot. And the fact that my neck starts at my chin now, there really is no good angle for these pictures!!! I survived my first day of school. I felt good all day until I got home and then the headache set in, but I have found that going to bed at 9:30 fixes everything!!! I'm 14 weeks right now. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday and then I have to wait about 4 more weeks to find out if Baby Whitlock is a he or a she!!! My mom has decided we're having a curly brown haired boy! We still think it's a girl!!! I almost referred to the baby as "she" the other day, oops!! Well that's all I have for today. Check back next Tuesday or Wednesday for more!

3 months

I don't know who had the idea of starting a blog and posting a picture of me every month, but I'm thinking I don't really like the idea anymore!! 3 months into pregnancy and I've gained enough weight to be 6 months. Oh well. The doctor did tell me that he did not see me being obese down the road. Thank goodness!! I heard the baby's heartbeat today!! It was 160 beats per minute. I was really hoping for a prediction from the nurse since Kelly's nurse guessed she was having a boy based on the heart rate. Anybody have any predictions?!? I go back to the doctor in 3 weeks. Hopefully the rate at which I gain weight will decrease. If not, you are going to start seeing pictures from the neck down. I can't stand for people to watch my face blow up anymore!! I'm fine with the belly bump, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Bermuda

Jason and I are not good at remembering to take pictures on vacation. I was reluctant to post this picture, but Jason made me since it was all that we had to show for actually going to Bermuda. We waited until the last night to ask someone to take our picture and then we didn't have a chance to get a better one in a better outfit or one without me in it, haha. I'm pretty sure the baby is growing in my belly, but I feel like all the weight is being added to my face and arms, ugh!!! At least you can enjoy the Bermuda scenery in the next pictures.

We had to walk uphill or up steps to get most everywhere. It didn't help burn many calories though! This picture was taken from the top of the resort at sunset.

Jason took this picture on the first day. This was the only other day we took pictures. This is the view outside of our room. We enjoyed the calm waters of the bay, rather than the waves on the actual ocean.

2 months - getting fat, not round!!

Well here I am!! Do I look a little different? How do you like the brown hair? I decided I might as well change my overall appearance since everything else about me is changing. My belly is getting bigger, but not quite taking the shape of a pregnant belly yet. I've traded in my apples and bananas for donuts and cookies. I guess you can see why I'm getting fatter after weeks of eating junk food. Oh well, junk food is the only thing keeping me from feeling sick every waking moment. Hopefully I start to feel better after the first trimester or we might have to consider adopting siblings for baby Whitlock, he he!! Watch for more pics of the baby bump!
