bryce is 11

We started Bryce's week long birthday celebration on Sunday.

He requested his favorite, donuts!

These birthday creations are so fun!

Hokie theme for the win!

Bryce has been wanting an Xbox for a while so we agreed to get him one for his birthday if he helped pay for it.  Family members gave him games and accessories to go with it.

His last night as a ten year old.  Next he runs out of fingers for his age.

The birthday fairy (MeMa) stopped by early in the morning to drop off birthday treats.

11 year old stats:
Height: 54 inches (18th percentile)
Weight: 71.5 lbs (29th percentile)
Blood Pressure: 98/52

His birthday was an early release day from school so Bryce was stoked that Nana could bring chicken minis for brunch!

Jason and Bryce spent the afternoon in the woods and then we all met up for dinner and dessert.

Bryce chose a University of Richmond basketball game for his birthday outing.

The boys went to dinner, the game and then out for ice cream.

This is going to be a great year for you!

adult time

We've enjoyed a couple of nights out this month!

We went to a local wine/beer tasting spot for happy hour before meeting friends for dinner one Friday night.

Best friends are good for the soul.

So is ice cream!

We just love this group of friends.  We typically get together at Christmas and have fondue but things didn't come together this year so we celebrated tonight!

We like our wine!

We hosted this year.  We had shrimp, beef, chicken, potatoes, asparagus, broccoli, bread and apples for the cheese and broth portion.

Dessert was just as good!

It's always fun when we can get together and laugh!

fifth grade fun

5th grade has been such a fun year.

D.A.R.E graduation

5th grade chorus concert at our alma mater.

Bryce received a character award.  They weren't just for 5th graders.  Emmy got one too.

Bryce and three of his friends decided to perform an act in the talent show this year.  The fifth graders also got to be announcers and help as the back stage crew.

The kids dubbed themselves "Recorder Disorder" and played one of their songs from music class.

They were co cute.

Bryce is really excited for middle school but he's sad because his friend on the left will be going to a different school than the rest of them.

valentines day

I love Valentine's Day!  It's just a fun day to do festive things and spoil the kids a little extra.

I had fun making their lunches and I think they liked their fun treats.

I love these two!

We sent the kids to school and went to celebrate Valentine's Day the adult way.

This was our first trip to Top Golf.

Jason's a pro.  I hit a few!

We also went out for a yummy lunch before the kids got home from school.

My mom lives in a community with many single or widowed women so I thought it would be fun to have a Valentine wine party for her and her friends.

We had lots of yummy wine and food pairings and lots of laughs.

These ladies have meant so much to my mom since my dad passed away.

Jason had a fun date with the kids while I was out.  They had dinner at IHOP and then watched their new Addams Family movie they got for Valentine's Day.

Happy love day to you!

Emmy is 8

We did away with birthday parties last year, but I kind of felt bad that Bryce got parties when he turned 8 and 9 and Emmy wouldn't so I put together a fun play date so Emmy could still celebrate her birthday with some of her friends.

Three of her best friends came home with us from school yesterday and we went to Sweet Frog and then back to our house for presents and a play date.

She loves the night before her birthday picture.  Peace out seven, eight is going to be great!

Birthday donuts for breakfast.

It was an American Girl doll birthday.

8 year old stats:
Height: 47inches (10th percentile)
Weight: 48lbs (14th percentile)
Blood Pressure: 94/58

Nana brought Chick Fil A lunch to school.

Emmy wanted to go rock climbing for her birthday this year.  She had never been to the indoor climbing facility and she couldn't wait.

She was a natural.  All of the conditioning at gymnastics paid off.

Everything is more fun with your cousins.

She picked Noodles and Company for her birthday dinner and then we had the family over for cookie cake and presents!

We love you, baby girl.
