a hay slide and a haircut

We had a little family date day on Saturday and started with lunch at Chuy's.  I love their creamy jalapeno dip and the kids love the push pops for dessert!
What better to do with a full belly than to sweat if off.  A local produce stand has a fun hay maze we like and they added a hay slide since we visited last so we went to check it out.  The kids had a fun time climbing the hay bales to get to the slide!

Cute kiddos!

Tough guy!

After lunch we headed to Trader Joe's to stock up on this deliciousness.  A friend served this at a LuLaRoe party I did last week and I was obsessed.  Go get you some!

Speaking of LuLaRoe, my painter friend painted my closet last week and I got everything reorganized and I love it.  I'm working on a fun sign and then it will be done.  I want to add a chandelier, but I'm not sure it's going to work with the light placement, but we'll see!

Brushing Emmy's hair in the morning is NO fun.  Her hair is so thin and fine and always tangly.  Many tears are shed while brushing, but no more!  I knew it was going to be short, but I'm not sure I was expecting this short.  She loves it, but I'm still getting used to her looking so different.  Jason said he wanted his 3 year old back!
That's what we've been up to lately!

what's up wednesday

Emmy had her fall party at school last Thursday.  I am the room mom so I planned a fun lunch and read a book and did a craft and other activity to go with it!

Princess Elsa.  She's actually going to be Anna for Halloween.

We went to the pumpkin patch with the kids from church on Sunday and had a picnic.  Due to the long lines, we never actually made it to the pumpkin patch!

The kids ran in the last race of the fall running series on Sunday.

All the kids get a medal at the end.

This girl has never met a camera she didn't like!

Bryce ran his little heart out this season.  He came in 3rd place for his age group.

Getting his medal.

Emmy and I enjoyed our weekly trip to story time today.

We don't have cable, but with the help of family members, we're able to log into some tv on the ipad so Bryce can watch the baseball playoffs!  Nothing like a little baseball in bed before bedtime.

Happy hump day!

pumpkin patch field trip

I tagged along on Emmy's preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch on Tuesday.  This is our third year going to this particular farm.  They have just the right amount on entertainment for the kids and it never seems overly crowded!

Our friend Kenley goes to Emmy's school (she's older), but her class had their trip the same day so we stuck together for some of the morning!

Emmy's attempt at a selfie of us on the hayride!

It didn't take her long to find the perfect pumpkin, however I don't think we actually ended up with this pumpkin in the end!

The corn kernel pit is always a favorite.

After feeding and visiting the animals, Emmy had the whole bounce house to herself before we headed home!

I'm so thankful for these opportunities I get with the kids as a stay at home mom!

carter mountain 2015

Yesterday was a perfect crisp fall day for apple picking.  We headed up to Carter Mountain early to beat the crowds and to get home in time for baseball.  Our first stop was warm apple cider donuts!  YUM!

Next up was the worm photo op!

We headed up the mountain and picked Fuji first......mine and the kids' favorite.  We had to stock up on plenty for Bryce's snack at school because he's hoping an apple will be the ticket to losing his first tooth!

A nice lady took out picture for us as we came down the mountain!

"Mama, take a picture of me with my hands in my pockets."

scenic view

Granny Smiths for Daddy were next.

We even  had time for a hay ride before heading home.

We had a perfect family morning!
