baseball, big feet meet and spirit week

Bryce has patiently waited his turn to make his varsity debut this year.  Bryce got to play in his first varsity game on Monday!  He did well in the field, got the bat on the ball some, but not for any hits.  He was a little discouraged and worried about his chances to continue playing, but he was able to play again on Wednesday and had a great night.

Emmy had spirit week this week leading up to their school's big Cow Drop fundraiser.  She and her friend chose camo for hat day.

This week was the Big Feet Meet for Hanover County.  This is a special Olympics event for students in the county.  Bryce was an ambassador for a preschool class this year.  He visited his class monthly and got to know the students, so they'd be comfortable spending the day competing fun events with him.  I know the teacher he worked with, and she told me he did a great job with the kids.

Emmy and her "cow herd" got to cash in on their free Chick Fil A breakfast this Friday.

We had our biggest game of the season on Friday night.  We played our rival school in the county.  Bryce played amazing in the field and had some great at bats and good swings, but no hits.  We won 8-1 and it was an exciting game.

callie, cows, a concert and gymnastics

I'm so obsessed with this little girl.  She is a menace at times, but she is so sweet.  And so photogenic!

Isn't she a beauty?

Emmy's school and Chick Fil A host a big fundraising event each year.  They always have a fun cow dress up day to help build excitement for the event.  Emmy and her friends won Chick Fil A breakfast for their cow herd costumes.

Emmy had a meet in Pennsylvania this weekend and we went up to Williamsport to hang out with one of her teammates the night before the meet.  The site of the Little League Series was a must visit.

The complex was beautiful and the grass pristine.  We didn't have any cardboard to slide down the hill, but once down it, Emmy and Jason decided to race up it, ha!

I'm sure Bryce would have loved to have seen it, but he was in Charlotte with Avery and her family.

Bryce bought Avery tickets to Zach Bryan for Christmas and her parents wanted to go too so they had a fun weekend in Charlotte at the Panthers Stadium.

Emmy had her final meet of the season today at Regionals in Lewisburg, PA.  It was a tough competition, and Emmy is fighting a sore back, so it wasn't the strongest end to the season, but she's hoping to move up to level 8 next year.

just a few things

Baseball season is in full swing.  Bryce is on varsity this year, but with a stacked group of seniors, which will make it hard for him to get much playing time this year.

I try to snap a picture of him when I can.  I'm hoping he'll get some playing time in against the teams that aren't very good.

We watched a lot of the Masters this weekend and enjoyed some pimento cheese and azalea drinks in a fun golf themed icon glass

Emmy went to Kings Dominion with some of her friends on Saturday.  We didn't get passes last year and assumed the kids wouldn't want them this year either.  Emmy is loving getting older and having more of a social life like Bryce.

spring break and Easter

We've had a nice spring break and while it's never long enough, I don't really feel like the week flew by so that's good, I guess.  Bryce enjoyed lots of time with friends from fishing to pickleball.

We went to Harrisonburg for a tour of JMU on Tuesday.  Bryce has been there a few times, but we wanted to do an official visit.  The campus was very spread out and cut in half by interstate 81, but Bryce liked it.

Emmy opted to stay home from college visits.  This is the first year that we've actually had spring weather, so Emmy went to the beach for the day.

We had a tour at Virginia Tech on Wednesday.  We just love Tech.  There is no comparison!  This is Bryce's first choice school, and we are so hopeful that he'll be in a good spot with the competitiveness of college admissions these days.

Bryce stocked up on new VT swag, and the boys played darts at the Hokie House while we waited for our tour.

Emmy and I took lots of pictures of Callie this week.  We all just love her so much.

We picked up Chase and Taylor on Saturday and headed to Charlottesville for the Luke Combs concert.

It was a fun afternoon with these kiddos.

Chase had bought tickets a while back, so we gave the kids our four tickets and Jason and I sat in Chase's seats.  We wear all in the nosebleed sections, but the screens were huge and the music plenty loud to enjoy the concert from any seat.

Easter basket time.

Love them!

 MeMa and the grandkids.

The whole fam.  We went to Vickie's house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt after church.

We had dinner with Nana and Paul to wrap up the day.

I was excited to give Callie an Easter basket.

She enjoyed it!  We had a nice break and hopefully we're refreshed enough to make it to the finish line to the end of school
