a fun week

Jason was out of town for work this week so we tried to stay busy.  The kids were out of school on Monday so Nana joined us for an afternoon of fun.

We went to Sweet Frog for a sweet treat!

Emmy is loving her new roller skates she got for Christmas and Bryce got a pair of roller blades from Chase so they're enjoying going to the rink more often.

We've actually had a bit of a cold snap so we headed to Starbucks after school on Tuesday for a warm treat!

I've seen this fun sugar cookie recipe all over social media so we finally made a batch.

They were so good!

Jason got back from his work trip on Friday and he and Emmy had a painting date on Saturday.

Bryce and Jason have been hunting and fishing quite a bit so Jason asked Emmy what she'd like to do with him and she picked painting!

Party llama for the win!

Emmy's first meet

Emmy has really been enjoying gymnastics this season and she's really improving.  This year she is technically still pre-team (not competitive), but she gets to compete in three meets this year.  Today was her first!  This was an introduction to meets so it was a simple intra-squad meet at her gym

It all seemed so official.

She took it all in stride and did amazing!

1st on bars with a score of 9.375.

3rd on beam with a score of 9.425.

3rd on floor with a score of 8.925.

She also scored 3rd all around!

She was so excited and we're so proud of her.

And we love her coach!

Wrapping up winter break

We had Friday family fun day to wrap up the week!

We went down to Belle Isle to walk the trails and hop some rocks.

Bryce doesn't leave home without his fishing pole.

Emmy and I are always just along for the ride!

It was a little breezy, but we've had a pretty mild winter so it wasn't too bad.

Bryce went to a friend's birthday party yesterday so we took Jason for his first pedicure.  He didn't hate it!

Back to reality tomorrow!
