Play Time

Bryce loves being on his changing pad. He is very good while he is getting his diaper changed and he loves playing with the toys and looking in the mirror. We have a shelf right above the changing table where we hang the entertainment. I don't know where I got the idea, but I'm glad I did. The toys have really helped encourage hand eye coordination. Enjoy the video!

3 months

If you can't tell from the length of time between blog posts, work (and all of the end of year business that comes along with it), trying to sell our house (and getting/keeping it clean in case anyone EVER comes to look at it), and just being a mommy, every hour of my day is booked. I don't know where all 24 hours of my day go, but they go quick. If I'm lucky, 7 of those hours are used sleeping! However, I wouldn't change it for the world! I can't complain because I only have 11 more days of school and then I get to be a stay home mommy for almost 3 months! Speaking of 3 months..........our little man is 3 months. I'm a few days late getting these pictures up. He is getting so big so fast! No doctor visit this month so I don't have any updates on how much he has grown. Even though he is not in the next size clothes yet, by the looks of his growing chubbiness, he has definitely gained some weight.

Bryce sure has changed in 3 months. Here is what he is up to these days:
  • He is a great sleeper. We put him to bed between 8 and 9 and he gets up to eat between 3:30 and 5 and then goes back to bed until about 7.
  • He loves to eat. He eats every three hours (like clockwork). Thank goodness he understands night time sleep and can let more than 3 hours pass between feedings.
  • He loves to smile.
  • He doesn't need toys because he has his hands! He loves to hold his hands and eat them!
  • He has started wearing a bib because drooling and blowing bubbles (I'm working on getting a picture of this) is his favorite sport.
  • His mommy and daddy love listening to him talk. The high pitched squeals of joy are my favorite. I'm patiently waiting for him to laugh.
  • He is still wearing 0-3 month clothes and wearing size 1 diapers. He is almost out of both, but I'm not ready to put him in the next size up because that means he is getting bigger and I just love how cute and little he and everything else are/were.
  • He can hold his head up on his own.

I'm sure there are things I have missed. This month we will be working on getting him to nap in the crib more and not in our arms (even though we love it, we just don't get much accomplished), enjoying tummy time so he will lift his head up more, and rolling. I'm glad I'll be home more to help him accomplish all this!

He is his father's son!

Jason said he wouldn't push hunting on Bryce, but if he wanted to be a hunter, he would definitely encourage it. Well if you notice, Bryce is holding his very first duck call that Jason bought him when we was born. I think that might be "pushing hunting" on him. I must say that it is impressive that he can already hold on to it.
I think we have a very advanced son! I don't really want him to be a hunter, but I am quite impressed that he already knows what do with the call. I know, I know..........it's instinct for all babies to put things in their mouth, but it looks like he knows what he is doing. You can't see it, but the duck call is engraved with Bryce's name and birthday. Nothing but the best for our son!

Watching TV

Bryce seems to like watching tv. I turned Sesame Street on this morning and he seemed quite interested! I have this weird fear that if he watches too much tv while his brain is developing, he will be ADD. Such a fear of mine. I figure if he only watches tv for like 10 minutes a day and it's educational, it can only be a good thing, right?!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Jason and Bryce made today the best 1st Mother's Day! Jason got up with Bryce this morning and let me stay in bed while they fixed breakfast. They made scrambled eggs and pancakes that spelled MOMMY. How cute!!

They gave me these pretty flowers, a Pandora bracelet with baby related charms and a card that doubled as a picture frame to capture memories of my 1st Mother's Day.

We went to Maymont this afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather. Bryce slept most of the time, but woke up long enough to take a picture for my card/frame. Jason made today so special that I told him that Mother's Day is better than a my birthday!

Cute Shoes

So it seems as though I'm always the last one on my grade level to get the "cool" shoes. I always thought my co-workers were weird for wearing danskos until I tried on a pair. They were definitely my best friend during pregnancy. I don't know if I'll ever go back to a pointy toe heel ever again. I have had to put the danskos away for spring/summer and I have already found that my wedge sandals are not going to work for me anymore either. Which brings me to these super cute sandals. They were quite the talk on the playground on Friday. I went to Penelope to buy a pair, but they didn't have the color I was looking for. However, they have EVERY color imaginable on the website. I ordered a pair of white ones with a white ribbon, but you can buy ribbons and interchange them. How fun!

Fridays with Daddy

Today is the second week of my weekly Friday childcare ritual. Bryce and I made a visit to Wal-Mart to pick up some last minute turkey hunting items. Also, he supervised while I assembled Chase's birthday present. A good time was had by all. These are some pictures mommy took before leaving for work this morning.

5 down, 29 to go

I got flowers!

My sweet hubby sent me flowers at work today. Jason knew it was hard for me to go back to work this week after spending 8 wonderful weeks at home with Bryce. This was the perfect way to celebrate the completion of 1 week of work! Thanks Jase!

Jason has finally started playing around with his fancy camera so he can learn how to operate it. Here was his attempt to capture the beauty of the flowers he sent me!

Bumbo Fun

Bryce still has a "deer in the headlights" look on his face in most pictures, HA! Jason had his first Friday home with Bryce today. He was quite surprised at how hard it was to get anything accomplished. Being Mr. Mom on Fridays is going to be more work and less play than he originally thought. We love the Bumbo seat and couldn't wait to use it. Jason had him sitting in it today and it looks like he did pretty well. What a cutie!
