halloween

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins on Tuesday night.  At lease we didn't wait until the absolute last minute, ha!

Emmy did the heart eye emoji.

Bryce did a bald eagle and American flag.

Bryce's class dressed up as idioms for Halloween.  He was a bull in a china shop.

Emmy insisted on wearing this outfit again this year!

I told her this was the last year she'd be able to squeeze into it.

I couldn't resist the Papa John's jack-o-lantern pizza so I had one delivered to school on Thursday!

The kids made Halloween easy this year.  Bryce dressed as our local baseball team's Spanish mascot, the ardillas voladoras and Emmy dressed as a softball player.

Chase and Taylor followed their lead!

We re-used last year's Wheel of Fortune board and banner this year for trunk or treat and improved on it by dressing up and making a wheel!

more friends and fall fun

The kids got out of school early on Monday so I let them each bring a friend home to play since we had so much after school time!

We went to Sweet Frog for a little treat before heading home to play.

Our school and Jason's work had Pink Out day on Wednesday for breast cancer awareness so we made sure to get a family picture.

The afternoons have been so nice for playing and relaxing outside.

It even got too hot to sit outside after a while.

We went to an annul Brunswick stew party on Saturday night and the kids were thrilled that Jason's cousin and his girls were there.  The hayride was the highlight of the evening.

Emmy has been begging to have a sleepover in Bryce's room and he finally gave in on Saturday night.  They even wore matching Christmas!

We hosted a big dinner at our house tonight to round out the weekend.  Now to get through Halloween week!

the past two weeks

Our fall weekends have been full of baseball.  Bryce's team plays in a Friday night league and a Sunday league.  He's been playing every other to every Friday since the end of August.  Here we were heading to his game last Friday night.  The season is coming to a close and we didn't end up having to play this Friday night because his team was the number 1 seed so we got a bye this Friday!

Always ready to play!

A win under the lights never gets old!

I took the kids to the bakery last Saturday morning to fuel up for their busy day.  Emmy had gymnastics from 9-12 and Bryce had an all day double header against a local team for some friendly fun.

The kids were out of school on Monday for Columbus Day.  Emmy and Taylor played at your house and Bryce went with Chase.  I think they got the better end of the deal because they went to the new Top Golf and to Krispy Kreme!

Bryce said he's not very good at golf, but he thinks he's figured out what to do to do well at this game!

Emmy loves to help around the house and windexing the doors is her favorite chore.

We had picture day for yearbook pictures on Wednesday.  Of course it was the first rainy day in over a month!  They still looked photo worthy when they got home!

Jason and I tagged along on Emmy's field trip to learn about the Powhatan Indians on Friday.

I went on this field trip with Bryce when he was in second grade and decided to bring Jason along this time.

There was a nice spot in the park overlooking the James River.

I think she liked having us both there!

Field trips with friends are always fun.

I was thankful for no baseball on Friday.  It was a chilly evening so it was nice to relax at home and stay warm.

freinds and fall fun

Emmy was in class with these sweet girls in kindergarten and first grade, but unfortunately they are split up between two classes this year.  They get to play together at recess, but that isn't always enough!  Emmy invited the girls over to play on Tuesday after school.

They're so cute!

It was still in the 90's this week, but we're getting in the fall/Halloween spirit anyway!

The kids wore blue on Friday for World Day for Bully Prevention.

We went to our favorite produce stand this weekend and stocked up on pumpkins and had a little fun while we were there.

The hay maze is always a good time.

The kids love jumping the hay bales and sliding down a slide at the end.

They even had a fun bounce house/slide.

Spiderman!

Farmer Emmy wants a pair of overalls so bad!

Happy Fall, y'all.
