just call me lazy

I'm not sure when I last pulled out our big camera or even the small camera in the diaper bag.  We've just been doing day to day stuff, staying busy, but nothing fascinating enough to get a real camera out I guess, ha!  Here are a few iphone shots from the past few weeks.

Emmy enjoyed sitting at the table in a big kid high chair at dinner last Friday night.

The grand kids were having a sleepover at MeMa and PaPa's after dinner.  Emmy made sure she didn't get left behind!

Bryce and Emmy were playing basketball at my parent's house the other day and it made me think back to when we got Bryce this hoop.  I think he was the exact same age as Emmy is right now.

Bryce drew me a basketball hoop on his magna doodle the other day.

Last weekend we went out and hopefully got the rest of the things Bryce will need for t-ball.  His face mask for his helmet came in this week so now he is officially ready!

I'm not sure if Emmy likes going places or if she just likes wearing her jacket but she has been bringing me her hat and jacket to put on her all week.

I have no idea what this post is going to look like once it's published.  I uploaded the pictures from my blogger app on my phone and then added a few more from the computer.  For some reason it won't let me center things without deleting pictures and it's putting text boxes around pictures and not letting me type.........ugh!  The preview box shows the caption along the side of one of my pictures.  It doesn't look like this on my post screen so who knows.

these boots are made for walking

Emmy has taken off walking in the last week.  I got a good video of her walking last night while we were blowing bubbles on the deck.  She loved being able to chase the bubbles!

t-ball and tea

Bryce had his first t-ball practice on Thursday night and he had a lot of fun.  So much so that he was excited to go back today for practice!  Here he is on Thursday taking a practice swing with a fake bat before really getting to hit off the tee.  I could barely figure out how to crop this picture on the new computer, let alone edit it, so sorry it's so bright!

This sport is adding up to be quite expensive.  Not only did we pay for registration, we got him a bat and glove.  Thankfully MeMa and PaPa got him cleats and pants for his birthday.  Turns out, he also needs his own batting helmet and they have to wear gray pants for games.  So we'll be heading back out to Dick's again before practice again on Tuesday.  And we still have to purchase his jersey, hat, socks, belt, and trophy.  Whew!  Too bad he didn't like soccer, it sure was a lot cheaper!

My mom's cousin Rosabeth was in town this weekend so we headed to a local tea room for lunch.  This is one of my absolute favorite places to go for lunch and they are going to be closing in April.  I was so sad to hear this and wanted to go one last time.  Their peanut butter pie is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted and they DIDN'T even have it today.  I was so bummed.  But we still had a wonderful girls day!

Happy Saturday!

computer mess

We got a new computer last week with windows 8 and it has seriously made my head spin! We're in the midst of transferring stuff from the old computer to the new computer, but since I can't figure out how to do anything on the new computer I'm just doing nothing computer related. It didn't help that our router stopped working and it took Jason two days to figure out the problem. If it weren't for Jason to get us through computer woes, I'd be calling Geek Squad every day!

Bryce had his first t-ball practice tonight. If I ever figure out how to save pictures to the new computer, you might just get to see them. Until then, it's iPhone pics.

Emmy and her necklaces crack me up!

Today was green day at school for St. Patrick's Day.

Emmy enjoyed one of Bryce's green cookies he took to share for snack.

Emmy doesn't really have enough hair for bows and she always pulls them out, but this afternoon she was adamant that I put all of them in her hair!

weekend fun

The weather this weekend was just gorgeous!  It was a bit of a tease since it's going to be rainy tomorrow and the temperature is going to drop, but it was nice while it lasted! Saturday we washed my car and then Taylor came over to play for a while.

Sunday after church we trimmed bushes and Bryce was quite the helper. One day he won't think it's that much fun!

The trash was too full with all the trimmings so Jason used Bryce to pack it down.

It worked.

We let him play a little after all his hard work, ha!  We also had popsicles, if you couldn't tell from his mouth!

Today was the last of the nice weather so we went for a wagon ride after naps.

The nice weather might not be here to stay yet, but the longer days are!

more snow

Hopefully this is the last of the snow!!  I personally am ready for spring, but I think Bryce would be happy to build a snowman once a month!  It rained most of the morning yesterday, but then turned to snow mid-morning.  This is what our backyard looked like after the snow started.

About two hours later the snow had really accumulated!

Bryce couldn't wait to get out and play so I let him skip a nap so we could play while Emmy napped.  I tried to convince him that it wouldn't be fun to play because it was so windy, but he didn't buy it!  I pulled him on the snow dish, we built a snowman (which he refused to stand by for a picture), and I shoveled the sidewalk and porch before heading in to get warm.  We were dripping wet when we came in because it was still snowing.

A bubble bath on a snow day is always fun!

I'm excited about daylight saving time and 60 degrees this weekend!

13 months

Even though February is a short month, I really felt like it dragged on. But then when I realized that Emmy is 13 months old today, I felt like I was just writing her 12 month post!

Emmy is such a sweet girl and we love her to pieces. She is such a little mama and loves her babies. She carries a baby around most of the day and anytime she sees a real baby or a picture of a baby, she says baby.

She is able to stand up unassisted and she is taking 10-15 steps at a time!

She is drinking milk out of a cup throughout the day and has a bottle before bed. We're almost at the end of our last thing of formula so we're going to try putting her to bed without a bottle in the next few days.

I thought she was giving up her morning nap because she was only sleeping about 30 minutes, but some days she surprises me and sleeps 2 hours. She is always up before Bryce in the afternoons and she can't wait for me to give her the go ahead to wake him up. He loves it. If I woke him up he'd be cranky the rest if the day!

She has 6 teeth and I can't tell if she's working on more. She is wearing a size 3 diaper and 12/12-18 month clothes and a size 4 shoe.

She's started to give kisses more when you ask for them or even if you don't ask. My favorite thing is when you tell her to love on you she lays her head on you and snuggles. She loves on her babies too.

She's saying a few more words (baby, ball, book, night night).  When you see a picture of a dog you say "woof woof".  You also know the sound for a sheep, cow, and elephant.  You touch your head when I ask "where's your head?"  We're working on nose and mouth!

We love you sweet girl.

sunday and monday

During youth group on Sunday night, Jason and I took our middle school kids to perform a random act of kindness.  First we tried to give quarters to families at the laundromat, but everyone was finishing up when we got there and no one accepted our money.  Then we headed to Walmart where we were able to give two different families a little money toward their groceries.  It was a great experience for us all and it's something that I hope to do more regularly when I'm out.

While grocery shopping yesterday, an employee came up to me with three bouquets of flowers and asked me to choose one for myself.  After choosing my flowers, he scratched through the barcode and told me to enjoy!  How's that for a random act of kindness?!? I must have looked like I could use them as I navigated the big racecar cart through the store while holding onto Emmy's shirt tale so she wouldn't fall out of the cart since she refuses to sit in the seat!

Bryce got sea monkeys for his birthday.  We started the process last Tuesday night and by Saturday morning they had started hatching.  Bryce is enjoying watching them swim around.

Emmy is obsessed with the bathroom.  I try to keep her out, but she's always following Bryce in there and torturing him.  Last night I put her in the sink to keep her out of Bryce's way!

One of Bryce's friends from school came over to play yesterday.  He and Thomas had a great time playing and they got along so well.  Bryce is already asking when he can come over again!

Monster Jam

Bryce LOVES monster trucks.  He added about five more trucks to his collection after his birthday.  We pulled out all of his trucks the other night to do a little inventory.  He wanted to see which trucks he had that would be at Monster Jam.  Even with all of these trucks, he still only had 4 of the 6 trucks that would be here.  At any rate, I think this boy needs an intervention!

Bryce really enjoyed Monster Jam last year so he and Jason decided to go again this year.  Jason loves it just as much as Bryce, if not more!  I think when he gets a little older, Jason will take him to a bigger arena so he can see the trucks do more tricks.  But for now, this a fun little treat with his friends.
\

A trip to the Coliseum wouldn't be complete without cotton candy.  While I don't have a picture of the cotton candy (Jason doesn't photo document how I would), I do have a picture of Bryce and the souvenir Monster Mutt hat that came with the cotton candy.

welcome march

I had fun celebrating Bryce and Emmy's birthdays and Valentine's day in February, but I'm so glad March is here.  I'm looking forward to longer days and hopefully more sunshine!  March got off to a good start tonight with a much needed girl's night!  Some friends from my small group went to Carrabba's for dinner tonight.  I'm not sure I've ever been, but it was good.  We agreed to shorten our wait for a table by choosing to sit on the "heated" patio.  Big.Mistake.  We sat directly under a heater, but it was still cold.  We were a little frozen when we left, but also refreshed after a dinner with friends that didn't consist of entertaining children!

I'm in the market for a new car.  We bought my car new in 2005 and Jason told me I would have to drive it until the wheels fell off.  That sounded fine at the time, but now I want something with a third row in order to accommodate more people.  I have my eye on a Honda Pilot (we're going used this time).  The only problem is that I need to get my 4 wheel drive fixed (that the dealership broke) so it will be worth selling.  Only problem is the warranty will only cover part of the problem and I don't want to spend money to fix it just to turn around and sell it.  Guess I'll keep dreaming for a while.

I just saw a commercial for the Shamrock shake.  I had one of these last year, but I don't remember if I liked it.  Guess I need to try it again and see!

Do you ever go through phases where you want new stuff?  Expensive stuff?  Like new cars, ha!  I guess since I never buy anything anymore, I dream of lots of stuff.  This next thing is more of a need as opposed to a want.  Our computer is on the fritz and may die at any moment.  I want to switch to a macbook but Jason does too many things for work on the computer that are much easier on windows.  Guess he'll win this battle!

Emmy is having her 2nd sleepover and Bryce and Jason are at Monster Jam.  I'm enjoying my night on a heating pad under a blanket watching "brideday" on TLC....still trying to warm up from dinner.
