Emmy girl is 5 months old today.
This month you have decided you would rather not sleep through the night anymore. I don't know what happened, but you went from sleeping from 8 or 8:30 - 7 to waking up at least 3 times a night. Sometimes I can convince you to go back to sleep with just your paci, but other nights you need to be fed. Some nights you are wide awake and coo and smile at me when I come in. You're not supposed to have your days and nights mixed up now! I'm working on getting you to take an afternoon nap with Bryce and you just take cat naps in the morning when you can.
You are still nursing every 3 hours during the day. You normally eat 5-6 times a day and occasionally a feeding during the night (as a last resort).
You have to have something in your mouth. If it's not your fingers or mine, it's your bib, clothes, toys, or anything else you can reach. I don't see or feel any teeth yet, but they'll be here before we know it.
You LOVE your feet. They help to distract you from eating your hands. When you are laying down, you try to put your feet in your mouth, but you can't get them there without a little assistance.
You are a happy baby most of the time. You get fussy when you are sleepy and if we go too long in between feedings.
You have found your voice and you love to squeal and make other sweet sounds. I love having babbling conversations with you.
You are wearing 3-6mo/6mo clothes and size 2 diapers. You weighed 13 pounds on our scale this past week. We go to the doctor next month for official stats.
You are rolling from your back to your stomach and from your stomach to your back. You usually roll over your right arm and then back over your left. You never go the other way.
We're still not sure what color eyes you have. We said the same thing at this point with Bryce so they will probably be brown like his.
You are more aware of what is going on around you. Take this sticker for instance. You knew it was on your shirt and you wanted it OFF.
Your head turns immediately when you hear your da da's voice come into the room. Your face lights up!
Bryce loves having a little sister. You are very interested in him and his silly antics keep you entertained.
You have been enjoying your exersaucer for longer periods of time.
We went to the pool last week and you stayed in your float for a long time too!
We've tried rice cereal a few times. You did not enjoy it the first time, but you have since warmed up to it as I've started making it a bit thicker. I would like to get into the routine of eating it in the morning around breakfast and in the evening around dinner, but the other day you didn't want to have anything to do with it. So we just try every now and then. I'm o.k. with that for now anyway because you always need a bath when you're done eating.
You are a sweet girl and we love you so much.
Bryce at 5 months.
Bryce seems so much bigger to me which makes him look older at 5 months. He definitely had more hair than you do! I'm enjoying how similar you two are at each stage, but also how different you are.
