a new tradition

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning. So pretty!
Today was the annual Mechanicsville Christmas Parade. When we lived at the old house, this was something we avoided like the plague because the traffic in our town came to a stand still for the event. However, the new house is on the parade route so we were able to enjoy the fun. This will be something we look forward to every Christmas!

I had visions of sitting on the front porch and watching the parade, but we ended up sitting on blankets in the front yard so we could be close to the action (mostly for the free candy and handouts).

The Chick-Fil-A cow was one of our favorites.

We had to wake Bryce up from his nap for the parade and I don't think he ever really woke up!

Enjoying a lollipop while they watched the parade.

Jason was even in the parade. His Uncle Marty has started a towing business so some of the family walked along the float and handed out candy and key chains.

There were horses.

The Grinch

The Grand Finale was Santa Claus on the fire truck!

Hat hair after the parade. We came in for hot chocolate and chili after the parade. We had fun this afternoon making a new holiday tradition.
