snow and valentines day

We got another round of snow this week.  This one was projected to be a lot more than the last two so Jason knew he would be home on Thursday to play with the kids.  Bryce and his friend Thomas were supposed to be celebrating their birthdays with their class at Jumpology, but we had to postpone it because of closings.  Luckily Jason was home to build a snowman with Bryce and that made things ALL better!  This was also the first time the snow was good for building a snowman.

I had a few little treats for the kids this morning for Valentine's day and then we went to Krispy Kreme for some yummy donuts.

After we got our sugar fix, we headed over to MeMa and PaPa's to play in the snow.

MeMa and PaPa gave the kids sunglasses for Valentine's day so that helped with the bright sun and the snow glare!

The snow melted fast today because of the sun and warm temperatures, but it was much more enjoyable to play in than the last snows because the temperatures were frigid.

My kids are going to miss the snow.  I'm already waving goodbye and welcoming spring!

Emmy loves being able to play like the big kids now!

My cool dude!

Helpful girls shoveling the driveway.

We made a BIG snowman.  Long story as to why the head is so big!!

The boys sat at the bottom of the hill for a long time just enjoying the snow.

This girl.

Bryce just filled up his first chore chart with stickers and asked to go to the claw machine for his prize.  With a little help from Jason, they came home with two stuffed animals and a hat!

Happy Valentine's Day

emmy's romp n' roll party

We could not have picked a better place than Romp n' Roll for Emmy's birthday party.  We had kids from 7 months to 9 years and they all had so much fun.

Sweet cousins.

Big brother.

Emmy enjoyed the rock wall,

the bouncy log,

the trapeze,

and so much more.

The older boys were happy to play basketball the whole time.

Chase the basketball star.

Emmy thought it was so funny when they were blowing up the bounce house.  That face cracks me up.

There were plenty of cupcakes to be had.

We invited 20 kids and I think we ended up having 18 kids come (but impossible to catch them all in a picture).

She clearly had a wonderful time!

Happy Birthday sweet girl.

Emmy's special day

I'd say Emmy had a pretty great 2nd birthday!

Bryce greeted her in her bed with his present as soon as she woke up.  He picked out more princesses for her Little People castle back at Christmas and couldn't wait to give them to her yesterday.

After birthday cake pop-tarts (yes, they're a real thing) and a few more presents, we headed to MOPS.  I had hoped to bring a birthday treat for her class, but the rules say no, so Barbara gave me some party hats to send in instead.  I even left my camera with the ladies so they could get some pictures for me!

My sweet birthday girl.

We had family over after dinner for cake and ice cream.  We took Emmy to pick out her cake last weekend and she settled on Hello Kitty.

I'm not sure if she ended up blowing out the candle or if she had help, but she was so pleased!

Emmy fell in love with Chase's drums about a month back and Kelly and Dave made sure Emmy got a set of her very own.  So nice of them to give us such a LOUD gift.  Later in the night, the kids brought down other LOUD gifts (like a guitar and microphone which Kelly and Dave also happened to give us) so they could have a band.  Aren't we lucky?!?

But I guess you can't put a price on that smile and happiness that Emmy got from those drums!

We had a fun day celebrating Emmy and will continue on Saturday at her Romp N Roll birthday party!

Emmy is TWO

Two year stats:

weight - 22.9 lbs (5th percentile)
height - 32 3/4 inches (25th percentile)

My how this girl has changed in the past few months.  Here are just a few things I can think of this month.

Emmy was very slow to talk, but now she's finally putting words together to make sentences and communicating with us!

She has such a sweet personality.  She's so loving and caring and is always concerned about others' well being.  She gets very upset when other people are upset or hurt and she really worries about them.

I think she's going to be tidy just like her mama!  She is very good about putting things away and cleaning up an area when she leaves or picking up things that are out of place.

She is rocking potty training.  She has been wearing underwear for almost two weeks without any accidents.  I put her in a pull-up at nap time and so far, she has been dry when she wakes up.  She's in a diaper at night and wakes up dry some mornings, but not every morning!  She is very good about telling me when she needs to go potty and doesn't want to go unless she's ready!  We're even able to leave the house in underwear!!

Emmy loves to eat and she not picky like her brother was!

There will definitely be more pictures to come after we have all our celebrations tonight and Saturday.  Here's a little look back down memory lane!

a "super" weekend

We attended a Pump It Up birthday party for the second weekend in a row.  This is the 3rd party here for kids in his class.  His friend Briton had a SUPER hero party on Saturday.

Even though Bryce's classmates were at the Pump It Up party last weekend, he felt out of place because none of his best buds from class were there.  However, all his class friends (Thomas, Addison, and Henry) were at the party this weekend!

Then there was the SUPER bowl on Sunday.  Chase and Taylor had a few leftover tattoos that they shared with Bryce.  I cringed as I watch Jason put these tattoos on Bryce's face.  However, I was very proud of him for telling Bryce they had to come off before school on Monday.  I have a tendency to wear off on him!!

This little girl said "super bowl party" all night long!  Oh and she dressed herself!

A family from our church hosted the youth group at their house for the game so we tagged along with our kids since we are youth sponsors.  Bryce could have stayed in the "man cave" driving trains all night.

He looked like such a big boy controlling all the trains.

I probably watched more of the game this year than I ever do, and it wasn't even a "game".  At any rate, it was a fun night!

a date with daddy

Bryce got a wooden Lowe's race car kit for Christmas and he loved building it with Jason.  I happened to look at the Home Depot website to see what their upcoming workshops would be this year.  It just so happened that the February project was the wooden Home Depot race car.  Bryce was super excited and couldn't wait to go with Jason.  Bryce's buddy Thomas goes each month so we made sure to coordinate with them!

Bryce just adores his daddy and wants to be JUST like him.

Such a fun time for the boys.

So proud of his work!  He couldn't wait to come downstairs this morning when he got up to go race it!

Best buds!

Thanks, Barbara, for capturing more great memories for me!

little babysitters

Our friends needed some help watching their son this past week, and Bryce had been super jealous that Chase and Taylor had gotten to watch him at their house.  After a little begging, we were able to watch baby Aaron at our house on Friday.  The kids loved it!

Aaron is the happiest baby I have ever met.  He may have cried for a combined total of 2 minutes ALL day.  When he did cry, Emmy was sad for him and she cried too.  Her little sad face was so sweet.

Hopefully Aaron will get to come over again real soon!
