memorial day weekend

Stars and stripes leo for the holiday weekend practice!

Bryce had a 3-day tournament this weekend.  He's been nursing a shoulder injury he suffered during school tryouts in March.  We were originally told to rest it for 6 weeks.  When we followed up after six weeks, they changed the diagnosis and treatment and turns out he needed four weeks of PT.  So, while he's been missing playing baseball, he's still been attending practice and the doctor has allowed him to hit for now.

Luckily his travel team hasn't been playing games due to school ball, so he hasn't missed too much except an entire school season he had hoped to be a part of.  Friday night was the first tournament since his injury, and he had a great hit to left field for a double.  It was definitely the motivation he needed to get him over this hump.

The team lost one on Friday and another one on Saturday but managed two and half wins (the last game was called due to rain) today!  Bryce had an amazing hit to right field today for a triple.  He even came home with the player of the game award.  I'm so proud of his perseverance through this injury.

My mom turned 70 today and we've been celebrating all weekend.

Rosabeth and Dennis William came to town on Saturday and we enjoyed dinner, drinks and of course strawberry pie.

Emmy and I took my mom and her friends to brunch at the Jefferson today.

The food was delicious and they even brought her a special treat.

This was a champagne brunch and they included Emmy with sparkling apple juice.

Just a sample of some of the desserts.

One must take a picture with the iconic alligator while visiting The Jefferson Hotel.

You just can't help it, ha!

We wrapped up the celebrations tonight with cake!

I scheduled a surprise yard greeting overnight.

These are such a fun way to celebrate!

Happy Birthday Nana!
