6th week of summer and my birthday

I took Bryce and his friend Charlie to Top Golf on Monday.  They played a round of miniature golf and then had some bay play.

MeMa took the cousins to Williamsburg on Tuesday for some fun.

Putt-Putt, bumper boats, and go-karts, oh my!

Chase's boat got stuck under a sprinkler and he got a little wet and poor Emmy isn't big enough to drive some of the bigger karts.

Friday was my birthday and I was spoiled from start to finish.  The day started with a mimosa and all the car cleaning accessories I'll ever need.  I've become obsessive about washing our new car so this was great!

I had a special Crumbl delivery from my bestie!

The kids (and Nana) and Jason got me some of my favorite treats.

Jason and I had a yummy lunch at a vineyard.  He got the slushie flight and I got a wine flight.

We clean up well.

After lunch we went to the mall for some last minute shopping before our trip tomorrow and then we stopped by a brewery before heading home for some pool time.  The pool hosted their first ever happy hour with drinks and a food truck.

The kids were doing their thing most of the day, but we wrapped up the day with happy birthday and candles.

I met my friends from church to celebrate July birthdays on Saturday afternoon.

Our good friends just learned that their middle son has cancer and our friend group, their family and the community as a whole has come together to support them.  Last night we had a car parade to send lots of encouragement before he starts treatment this week.

We enjoyed hanging out with them after the parade.

Please send prayers to 10 year old Gavin as he fights cancer.

Photo booth at church this morning.

We enjoyed lunch and dessert with the family to celebrate my birthday after church today.

5th week of summer and Boston

We ended up coming home from the beach a day early so Bryce could play baseball at our local AA stadium.  This was a fun treat for our team.

Bryce played a great game with a base hit and some action in center field!

Emmy will be attending the private Christain school that meets at our church.  They are building an expansion that will be ready for this school year.  There was an issue hooking up power to the building so Jason "wore his Dominion hat" on Monday and pulled some strings to get the right people in place to get the ball rolling in time for school to be on schedule.

This was a typical week of gym, Bryce working, wrestling, baseball, etc. Bryce did have a fun day of golfing with his buddies.

We kicked off our weekend early and headed to Boston on Friday.  It was a long drive with way more traffic than anticipated, but we made it.

We ended up missing batting practice but got a great parking spot close to the stadium which helped when we left in a monsoon!

Jason asked nicely if we could walk across the green monster, so we took advantage of the photo ops.

We had great seats.  Close to the field and undercover which was nice when it rained and when it was sunny when we were lucky enough to come back on Saturday.

The forecast was questionable for the evening, and it ended up storming and raining long enough that the game was postponed.  We got ice cream while we waited for a final call.

Luckily, we didn't have any plans for Saturday, so we were able to go back for the second half of the game on Saturday.

We didn't complain about a second day to finish sampling all of the local beers.

After the game we had just enough time to catch the site of the Boston Tea Party.  We couldn't take the kids to Boston and not see anything historical

We're home for a week and then we head to the Bahamas!

Sandbridge 2023 - week 4 of summer

We had a wonderful week in Sandbridge with family and friends.  The kids hit the beach as soon as we got there on Saturday evening.

Beach gymnast.

I couldn't wait to get to the dock on the back bay.

Sunday morning Jason and I were up early to set up camp on the beach.  We rewarded ourselves with drinks at Baja on the back bay.

Of course we had to try out the sand heart picture trend.

We can always count on Jason to catch something fun in his net.

Twins!

Back bay gymnast.

We had 24 people total.  The little Comp boys and Heather's husband weren't in this picture.  Each family had a night to fix dinner for the group.

I think everyone took a kayak ride at some point over the course of the week.

The sunsets on the back bay are stunning.

We got up to watch the sunrise one morning!

I'm pretty sure Bryce could pass for another nationality with his dark tanned skin.

All smiles!

Relaxing in the back bay.

We managed to track down the ice cream truck one afternoon.

Sunset kayak ride!

Kelly took the kids to Virginia Beach one night for shopping, putt putt and ice cream.  Emmy smoked them all.

The boys kayaked to Baja for breakfast one morning.  They even dressed for the occasion.

I'm so glad these cousins have each other.

It was a really relaxing week with great weather and great company.

We've still got some fun things to look forward to this summer!
