last day of school

Today was the last day of 4th and 1st grade!

These two had the best teachers and both thrived this year.

Bryce wins the award for most changed.  I can't say he looks older, but very different.  He changed his hairstyle and got rid of his glasses and I can't get used to it!
Once the teeth start coming out, they never look the same.
Jason and I attended Bryce's award ceremony this morning and were so proud of all the awards he received and all he accomplished this year.

This year far exceeded every expectation I had for his fourth grade year!

I don't want to brag, but it was like the Bryce Whitlock awards show.  Here are the awards he received:

Classroom Spelling Bee winner
P.E. Fitness Award
Running Club Award
Outstanding Attendance (missed no more than 3 days and less than 5 tardies)
Principals List (straight A's) for all 4 nine weeks and for the school year
Accelerated Reader award for reading the most books in his class
Reading Olympics Award for reading all 32 books
Green Screen Award for his wax museum participation
And best of all, he passed all of his SOLs (standards of learning - state test) and received a perfect score on his Social Studies test!

An ice cream treat after school was a must!

We typically go to a Flying Squirrels baseball game on the last day of school but Jason and I have a retirement dinner to attend tonight so we decided to go tomorrow instead!
