another fun and festive week

Emmy continued dressing in festive clothes to wrap up the last week of school before break.

She even had a reindeer scrunchie.

For one of our advent acts of kindness this week the kids placed dollar bills on items all over the dollar store.  

Bryce said this was his favorite RACK so far.

She looked terrific on Tuesday

Bryce even got in on the action.  His school had mad about plaid spirit day.

Work it Wednesday.

Another day this week the kids loaded washers and dryers with quarters at the laundromat to cover someone's next load of laundry.

I was working at school on the day of her party and Jason picked up and delivered their nugget tray, so we were able to sneak in a quick picture with our girl.  

Friday was pajama and movie day!  This was the only day Emmy rewore a shirt in 15 days because she needed something to match her new pj bottoms she got!

We just love our mailman. He's such a nice guy.  As another act of kindness, the kids gave him some M&Ms to thank him for driving "M"iles and "M"iles to deliver our mail.  We also gave him a 7-Eleven gift card so he can buy a warm drink and snack on a long cold day delivering mail.

Emmy's gym had their Mele Kalikimaka themed Christmas party on Friday night.  She had on a grass skirt at some point! 

Saturday was rainy so we had time to do some fun indoor Christmasy things.

We made a gingerbread house and made some Christmas cookies.

The rain cleared so we drove around and looked at Christmas lights.

Sunday afternoon we picked up trash in our neighborhood as our act of kindness for the day!

We wrapped up the weekend celebrating Christmas with our neighbors at our annual Beljacklocks Christmas party.

a festive week and a wrestling debut

Emmy kicked off the week with another fun festive outfit.

I couldn't convince her to wear the hat to school on Tuesday!

Bryce tried out for the middle school wrestling team and made it!  He earned a starting spot this week and was excited to dress out for the first match on Tuesday.

He's in the 80 pound weight class but wrestled up this week in the 85 pound weight class.  He lost 10-9 in a nail biter but didn't get pinned!

Bryce did not have an opponent in his weight class on Thursday night, so he won by forfeit.

We've been doing random acts of Christmas kindness through advent and this week we left popcorn and a Redbox movie code on kiosks around town.

There were a few pellets of sleet on Wednesday, but not enough to consider it snow!

This is the only kind of cat Emmy's not allergic to, ha!

We made it to Friday with another festive outfit.

The kids donated a bag of goodies to the SPCA as their random act of Christmas kindness (RACK) on Saturday.

We had a lazy Saturday afternoon, so I started a new Christmas book!

We've got one more week of school and then some down time to relax and have fun!

'tis the season

This week kicked off the three week countdown to Christmas break.  Emmy tries to wear a different festive shirt each day.  

 Monday

Tuesday

We kicked off advent on Wednesday with an acts of Christmas kindness calendar.  They donated cans to a local food pantry to start!

Thursday

We made the annual Santa visit to Bass Pro Shop this week.   

Friday

Emmy had a meet early Saturday morning in Virginia Beach so we headed down Friday night so we could see Christmas lights and swim in the hotel pool.

Emmy improved her floor and bar score on the season.  The vault judges may have had their eyes closed, but she medaled in 4 events including all around.

After her meet we had lunch on the Boardwalk (basically the beach) and walked out to the water for a photo op.

Today was the Mechanicsville Christmas Parade.  It comes down our street so we host family and friends to help kick off the holiday season.

The parade ends with Santa on the firetruck.  He'll be back through the neighborhood later this week!

It's not parade day without eggnog (not pictured) and our favorite neighbors.  We're the BelJackLocks (Belcastro, Jackson, Whitlock) The Adams moved in after we named ourselves and we haven't changed it.  Now we're truly in the Christmas spirit.
