apples and sports

Jason was out of town for five days last week and Emmy was so glad to see him when she got up on Wednesday morning!

Emmy had a shortened practice on Saturday so we took advantage of our two free hours and went to our favorite local orchard to pick apples.

We've picked peaches here in the past and this year they have opened for apples.

This year they have pink lady apples and next year they may have fuji, my favorite.

They even offered a hayride to the apples.

Emmy had her first meet of the season on Sunday morning.  She had lots of new skills this year (cartwheel on the beam, kip on the low and high bar, and a vault over the table) and she made them all.

Vault and bars continue to be her strengths.  She tied for first on vault but took second based on all around scores.  She got second on bars and placed fourth all around.  It was a great day watching our girl do what she loves.

Right after Emmy's meet we headed to baseball.  Bryce's team won their first game but lost their second game.  This was the championship bracket of his fall league.  He was a hitting machine in these games.  He hit a stand up triple and a pair of two RBI singles.

Our team received runner-up for their bracket.

Nana bought a cover for her golf cart so we can still ride in the elements.  We put it on for her last night and took it for a test drive.
