a little more November

November is flying by, but we've been having fun!

The kids had Math and Reading night at their school.  It was a pirate theme.  We tried to dress the part, but they look more like members of a motorcycle gang!

They get cake pops any chance they can!

Rives and Jeris came for a visit and we made a point to get some special pictures that we will cherish.

Jason has brought Emmy over to his side so she needed her own pair of noise canceling head phones for hunting.

Emmy helped me make banana bread for their teachers one night.

Bentley turned two on the 12th.

We had Papa John's teacher delivery night.  Two third grade teachers and a second grade teacher delivered to us.  It was a cold and rainy night, but they were troopers.

We went and saw Santa and had dinner at Bass Pro Shop.

We had a meal packing event at church and the kids were a big help.

Bryce's baseball team had a fundraising event at a local restaurant.  One of the parents commented that it looked like a line up at the police station, ha!

After Bryce's dinner we came home and decorated our Christmas tree followed by hot chocolate!

We're ready for Christmas, but hoping December doesn't fly by as quickly as November has!

Thanksgiving with Nana

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Nana's tonight since we were in North Carolina yesterday.

Jason and the kids worked on this turkey gingerbread while dinner cooked.

That looks so gross, but they said it wasn't bad!

It was a cute centerpiece for dinner and then they tasted it for dessert.  Again, that seems disgusting, but they didn't seem to mind it.

Jason's cousin made this brussels sprouts dish a couple of weeks ago and it was so good so I made it for tonight!

Nana always has the traditional/essential Thanksgiving foods.  The county club lunch was good, but nothing beats home cooking!

We were on pins and needles during the VT/UVA game, but the Hokies managed to pull off a win!

Once the game was over, we were able to focus and help Nana decorate her Christmas tree.

It was a nice relaxing evening with family!

Now bring on Christmas!

Thanksgiving in Raleigh

We headed to Raleigh this morning for Thanksgiving lunch at the country club with my dad's family.  People seemed to come and go during the whole meal and we didn't get our annual picture of the whole group.

I got my dress early in the season from LOFT and then stumbled on Emmy's dress yesterday at Old Navy.  I thought we were a cute match.

Bryce even had an Old Navy shirt that kind of went with our theme.  Poor kid is tired of wearing that shirt though.  It's his only dressy shirt right now and he's worn it for picture day, our Christmas card and now for Thanksgiving, ha!

Jason typically wears the standard male country club outfit (blue sport coat, tie and khakis).  That would have gone nicely with our theme.  However, he had gotten this new coat and felt as though today was the day to debut it.

He looks like he's ready for Easter, but I guess he does clean up nicely, ha!

We headed back home after lunch and had cereal for dinner and ended the night watching football by the fire.  Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Jamestown

Bryce is learning about Virginia history this year in fourth grade.  His class took a field trip to Jamestown today and Jason got to tag along!

baseball

Bryce had one last baseball tournament today!  These boys have grown so much over the last year!  They started off their fall season with a tournament win and ended with one tonight too!

Bryce was hitting the ball like a champ today!

We're running out of room for all the trophies.  He's starting to put his little league trophies away to make room for travel ball trophies!

He's got some really great coaches.

Way to go RBA!

Taylor's birthday

Yesterday was Taylor's birthday and tonight was her party.  Emmy, though the youngest and smallest, had a great time doing doing all things girly with the gang!

While the girls were at the party, we entertained the boys!

Our first stop was burgers for dinner, followed by games at Dave and Busters!

We ended the night with ice cream at Gelati Celesti.  YUM!

Not a bad way to spend a Friday night!

Emmy's field trip

Emmy's class went on a field trip to Meadow Farm Park yesterday.  They've been learning about life in the past compared to the present so they got to see what life was like in the past while on the trip.

Emmy has made friends with the sweetest little girls!

Her friend Norah was in my group and they were like glue all day.

After touring the houses and farm, we ate lunch and played on the playground.

The morning started off a little chilly, but it ended up being the perfect day for a field trip!
