a big week

Bryce finished his Behind the Wheel course last week.  He was eligible (time wise) to drive on Monday/Memorial Day, but he was put in second semester drivers ed and his final exam wasn't until Wednesday.  But you better believe after he passed the exam and got his paperwork, he picked up his license as early as he could.  It was definitely bittersweet watching him drive off by himself!

Nana's birthday was on Wednesday as well.  Bryce was exempt from his second block exam, so we picked him up from school and went to brunch to celebrate Nana.

After brunch, we came back to our house for presents and Nana's favorite, strawberry pie!

Today was Bryce's last day of school.  He only had to go for his second block exam and then he got to leave early because the varsity baseball team had an early afternoon game.  Bryce has worked hard this year (in the classroom, on the court and on the field).  It was a full and busy year with highs and lows, but I can say we all made it!  Bryce may have a couple more weeks of baseball and then hopefully he'll have a little time to breathe.  Although, he has a summer job and is taking a college course, so we'll see how relaxing it is!

I always love to see how they've changed over the year!

wrapping up

Bryce had his last JV game of the season on Tuesday.  Jason's dentist is a family friend.  He retried and has taken up photography and Bryce asked if he could come get some shots of the game.  Bryce had three hits in the game and brought in two runs on his first at bat.

I won't miss washing white pants for a while!

Bryce had a phenomenal game and was working hard in centerfield.

Celebrating a sweet catch!

The post-game report was a glowing review of our boy.  He had a great game and a great season and was invited to join varsity for the post season.  It's a great honor, but it's going to throw a big kink in Bryce's summer vacations.

Emmy's last day of school was Wednesday.  Bryce is a bit jealous she's done so early.

She has grown so much this year.  We're ready for a fun summer before 8th grade.

a fun weekend

Emmy's last official day of school was Friday.  They had their annual school picnic and Jason, and I volunteered.

Emmy headed to Cape Charles after school on Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday.

She was so excited for this weekend.

I'm biased, but she's so pretty!

Sweet girls!

Bryce went down to the city for Riverrock on Saturday night.  It's a sporty outdoor music event.

Bryce is lifeguarding at two different pools this summer.  He had three different shifts this weekend.  Two early mornings and he wasn't in the mood to smile, ha!

We got our high school group of friends together on Friday night.  Most of these guys have been friends since middle school.  We were only missing one of the guys and somehow Katy and I didn't get in on this high school picture.  They had so much fun catching up and reminiscing.

Here we all are with the spouses.  Justin and Beth had already left, one of the guys couldn't make it but his wife did, and we were missing two other spouses.

baseball, volleyball and mothers day

Bryce had two games this week.  It's still an undefeated season for us!

Volleyball championship rings came in and we had a ring ceremony this week. Bryce had a home game, so we left it early to get to the ceremony, so he wasn't dressed to match.

What a fun experience!

Nana was able to join us for the game and the ring ceremony!

We all went to dinner and then shopping on Saturday night.  This girl of mine is so beautiful!

Mother's Day!  Love these two.

We had a nice evening at Nana's.  Emmy was glad the golf car was back in action.  We played pickleball, had Cava for dinner and worked a puzzle.  Perfect night!

a fun week

I went to trivia night with the girls on Tuesday and we had so much fun.

Emmy's school fundraising event of the year was this weekend.  I volunteered at the front gate and greeted everyone with coupons for free Chick-Fil breakfast.

My friend Angela was the lead for my zone, so we had fun hanging out.  Jason drove people around on golf carts and Emmy manned the kids' zone with inflatables.

Bryce had plans to go fishing at the beach with friends.  Emmy is jealous of his social life, so we told her we'd take her to the beach after the school event.  It was a nice afternoon!

We even brought a grill and cooked burgers on the beach.  A first for us!

We took a stroll down the pier before heading home and ran into Bryce and his friends.

Bryce went to Top Golf tonight to celebrate one of his buddies' 16th birthday.
