just a quick update

Emmy participated in her last elementary school Reading Olympics competition this week.  Her team came in third place, but the top three teams' scores were only separated by one point. 

Jason was in New York for work all week so it was so nice to have him home.  We got to sneak out for a night out with friends on Saturday and it was glorious!

We have 4 more days of school and then SPRING BREAK!!!

pi day and st. patricks day, oh my!

We celebrated pi day with all the pie!!  

Shepherd's pie, pizza pie, and chocolate pie!

Emmy bought lunch for the first time this year one day this week and got ice cream for dessert, so she decided to go through the line another day for ice cream and they were out (and I hadn't sent her a dessert).  So of course, I had to take her out for ice cream after school!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day big!  I love a theme and I love to spoil my people!! Green treats all around!

I went to a winery with a girlfriend for green wine and wine slushies, so I made an Ireland themed charcuterie for the occasion.  

Jason has a suit for ALLL the holidays!! 

Emmy's gymnastics team had one last practice before their state meet.  Usually, they have to wear a team leo before a meet, but Emmy asked if they could wear Shamrock leos since it was St. Patrick's Day!!

It has been a great season with these girls!

Emmy got her highest beam score (9.450) and is holding steady with her highest floor score (9.50) and medaled on floor at the state meet!!

I can do a French braid or French braid pigtails for meets, but Emmy has been practicing her hair skills on me and is getting quite good.  Look at this crown braid!

We're two weeks out from spring break and can't wait!!

this and that

Emmy and I made a fun after school snack one day this week.  Thanks to Nana for the kit. 

Jason's mom is cleaning out her house and he was excited to re-live his childhood and play with all of his old toys.

Bryce celebrated a friend's birthday at a trampoline place on Friday night.

Baseball season is back.  

But boy is it too cold to be playing baseball in Virginia in March!

Bryce's team lost one and won one on Saturday and unfortunately lost their game today.  Better luck next week!

 

a sporty weekend

We wrapped up Bryce's birthday celebrations with family on Tuesday night.  He still loves a donut cake!

Emmy had a meet in Virginia Beach on Saturday morning. 

There was some strong competition, but she had her best floor score of the season!

Bryce's girlfriend had her meet right after Emmy's, so they were able to visit in between. 

We ate lunch on the water and then took a quick walk out to the beach!

Bryce got a gift certificate to iFLY for his birthday so he was willing to tag along to Emmy's meet so he could go indoor skydiving while we were at the beach. 

He got three flights and really enjoyed the experience.

We hit up Freddy's on the way home for dessert. 

We wrapped up the weekend with a baseball scrimmage, but I didn't manage to get any pictures.
