We boarded a plane to Florida on Monday for a little sun and sand for spring break!
We got there just in time to see the sunset!
Tuesday morning we hit the beach for a fun day!
My beach babes!
Jason and Bryce weren't able to watch any spring training games back in March while they were in Florida due to the lockout so they were excited to go to the last Phillies spring training game on Tuesday.
Emmy and I stayed on the beach!
My happy place!
One of our favorite spots is the Kooky Coconut. Jason got us a house a block off the beach road right at the Kooky Coconut and the beach access so we were regulars this week!
We knew Wednesday was going to be our last good beach day so we started out early!
The kids tried skim boarding. It's not as easy as it looks!
A local was scanning the crowd and I guess we caught his attention because he offered Bryce surfing lessons.
He managed to get up on the board a few times!
Those family selfies are difficult!
Emmy had seen these fun scoot coupes so Jason rented one for a couple of hours and the kids took turns riding up and down the beach road!
They may have each gotten a turn behind the wheel on the backroads!
Late day ice cream treat since we planned to stay on the beach as long as possible before having a late dinner.
We don't typically go anywhere for spring break but this may become a regular occurrence.
We knew Thursday was going to be a rainout but we ended up getting a couple of hours on the beach before the storms rolled in.
The castle masterpiece.
This little guy came a little too close for comfort.
We headed in for the day once we knew the rain was imminent. We were all looking forward to Skyline for lunch on the rainy day. We also hit up Culver's for dessert afterward!
Jason wants to see all of the wildlife while in Florida. We made an excursion to look for manatees, but we didn't see any. We did encounter a horseshoe crab that had gotten stuck in between two rocks so Jason freed it!
Next we were on a hunt for an alligator and Emmy spotted one. My zoomed in picture kind of distorts the image, but if you look closely you should be able to see it.
After the wildlife extravaganza we went souvenir shopping. We came across this strange guy, ha!
The rain had cleared by sunset so we were excited to catch it one last time before leaving.
The beach brings me pure joy!
Until next time!
We drove up to Clearwater Friday morning before we left to shop for some last minute souvenirs and took this fun touristy picture!
This trip was so refreshing and it was just what we needed to make it to summer break!
