beach pictures

We did our own family beach photo session back in 2012 after Emmy was born, but it was just simple with jeans and white shirts taken with our SLR.  I dreamed up this year's photo session after falling in love with outfits from Kelly's Kids.  I mentioned it to Jason's sister and she was on board and arranged the photographer.  I was surprised at how easily the adult outfits came together.  Jason and I had our shirts and Kelly borrowed my pink shirt and then we just made sure everyone else had an even mix of white and navy!

Now I just have to figure out what to order for our house!!

4th of July

We went to the Shipley's for another fun fourth of July!

Love this little firecracker!

They had fun drawing their own fireworks with chalk.

Get it girl.

S'mores, yum yum!

There was a little rain so we ended up inside for a while.

The rain cleared by the time it got dark so it was back out for sparklers and fireworks.

After we got eaten alive by bugs, we headed in for glow sticks before calling it a night!

Thanks Shipleys for hosting another fun 4th.  So glad this wasn't our last annual fourth of July celebration with your family after all.

sandbridge 2015

Last week was our annual beach vacation.  We had a wonderful week with gorgeous weather and perfect temperatures.  I've become a slacker with my big camera so all of these pics were captured on my phone.

We went straight to the ocean when we got there on Saturday!

This year we stayed a few streets from the beach and our house was on the Back Bay.  We had a little dock out back for sitting and fishing!

It took me a while to convince Emmy to wear a little bikini, but she quickly fell in love with it.

She called it a "zucchini" before she realized I was saying "bikini"!

Bryce was a boogie boarding machine!

Jason caught this bass early in the week and I think that was the only catch of the week.

Our little mermaid!

No naps were taken in a bed, but she caught a few long naps on the beach.

It's always a good day at the beach when we find the ice cream truck.

This was our ride for the week.  All ten of us actually fit on it.

I love these two cuties!
This one is always ready for a picture.

She asked Jason to bury her in the sand all week.  MeMa and I weren't a fan of it, but all ended well.

Time for another nap.

Enjoying some fishing on the dock while the sun set.

The cousins

JUMP

Jason took the boys for a kayak ride in the ocean.  They loved it!  The dolphin were everywhere the day they went out!

Cutie!

The girls gave the kayak a try, but didn't make it past the breakers!

We had professional beach pictures taken while we were there.  This was before we left the house.  I'll post the good ones once I have a chance to go through all of them.

Luckily Jason had his eyes open for the real pictures!

Some of the kids preferred the kayak rides in the bay.

We can assume they had a great week!  Emmy is the only one who ever sleeps in the car and they were both asleep within an hour of leaving at 7:45 am and we were home by 10!

Thank you MeMa and PaPa for another great year at the beach!

our week

After Jason's birthday celebrations on Monday, we finally had some time to slow down and enjoy summer.  We went to a local sprayground on Tuesday with some friends.

I think my kids may be the only ones who wear goggles there, ha!

It was already in the nineties while we were there at 9:30!

Soaking up our final days with the Shipleys.

The mail man dropped off some lovelies at my house and I finally got them on the deck.  What a transformation!

We needed to make a Target run on Wednesday.  This is how we do Target!

I also went to the library and stocked up on beach reads for next week!

The kids had a sleepover with MeMa and PaPa on Wednesday night so I went to the pool with a friend Thursday morning and it was so nice to sit in the sun and relax and not get in the water and catch a certain three year old one million times!

Last night we went out for ice cream with one of Bryce's friends he met in preschool and has played baseball with ever since!

Emmy is quite fond of Henry's little sister, Emily (who also goes by Emmy)!

Bryce has been reading to complete the Barnes and Noble summer reading program.  He finished his 8th book yesterday so we went to Barnes and Noble this morning for his free book!  Bryce wanted a beach read too!

I'd say our second week of summer was a success!
