it was a good week

We went to Atlee on Wednesday night for Avery's field hockey senior night.  I snapped this picture when we got there.  I'm not happy that the sun is setting so early now, but it sure is pretty.

All of the lasts and senior things are happening in full force.

Bryce went to the State Fair on Wednesday as a field trip with DECA.  Jason went as a judge for the event.  Bryce had way more free time to experience the fair than Jason did.

My mom recently redecorated her bathroom and had it wallpapered.  I loved it so much, she offered me the leftovers.  Her guy came and hung it on Thursday and I'm in love.  Of course, new wallpaper meant new everything.  I decided to switch to gold fixtures, so I got a light, mirror and faucet.  Now I'm working on the small things like toilet lever, drawer pulls, toilet paper holder, and trashcan.

Bryce was scheduled to have a baseball tournament at Virginia Tech this weekend, so we bought tickets to Friday night's football game. We found out on the way to Blacksburg that the tournament was canceled due to forecasted rain all weekend.  We were miraculously able to cancel our hotel room for the weekend, but that meant driving home after the game.  We got in at 3AM.

We had a great time tailgating and while the game was a heart breaker right at the end, it was a fun game.

We went to visit a friend of Bryce's at their tailgate, and Jason's cousin and his wife were two spots over from them.  And two spots over from them was Bryce's travel ball coach.

The guys all had seats together and Emmy and I were lucky enough to get seats just a few rows behind them!

The theme for this game was stripes.  Each section was assigned a color.  I think it looks great!

While I was looking forward to a weekend away, it was nice to be home for a lazy, rainy, fall weekend.  We were definitely bummed that Bryce didn't get to play at Virginia Tech.  This was his first and only chance while playing travel ball.
