5th grade graduation

So many emotions come to the surface as we say goodbye to 5th grade/elementary school.  I am so sad that Bryce's last year got cut short.  It was such an unfinished and abrupt end.  There are lots of missed events, but we made the best of it and so did the school.

Here are Bryce's fall pictures from kindergarten to 5th grade.

The first days of school.  Anyone impressed how the flag and picture position stayed the exact same for six years?!?  Only the sign changed.  Pretty consistent if I do say so myself!

I think Bryce made the biggest change in his appearance from second to third grade.  One thing that didn't change is his style, ha!

Kindergarten | Fifth Grade

A friend from an old moms group organized these yard signs for 5th graders in our area.  I organized a graduation shirt for our school.

I'm known for throwing things out and not being overly sentimental over "things".  I surprised myself when I found I had kept Bryce's graduation cap from kindergarten.

I had no idea what day should be the last day of school so we posted all the milestones.

Bryce was awarded the Presidents Education Award.  This award is for students who had an advanced SOL score in Math and/or Reading in fourth grade and maintained a 3.5 GPA for fourth grade and the first semester of fifth grade.  Way to go Bryce.

Bryce is going to miss the familiarity of elementary school, but he is so excited about middle school.  Bryce made this poster for the drive through 5th grade parade.

These two boys have been friends since 3 year old preschool.

Thomas' mom made an arch for Jason's truck so the boys could ride in the parade in style!

Front/back row seat?

We got to school as soon as the parade started and finished right as the first round of rain came.  Those poor teachers got wet tonight!

I hosted a little graduation party with family and a few of Bryce's friends after the parade.

We had Chick Fil A nuggets and ice cream sundaes!

We gave Bryce an inflatable hot dog joust for the pool and the Oh, the Places You'll Go book that his teachers wrote in each year at the end of the year.  I had originally planned to keep it going through middle and high school but figured there'd be too many teachers to track down with multiple classes.  Nana gave him some books he wanted to keep him busy this summer!

He got a book and a cross necklace from MeMa and PaPa.  The front side of the cross has red baseball stitching!

We are so incredibly proud of Bryce and all he has done in his eleven years.  We can't wait to see what's next!
