quarantine week 7

Emmy and I started a measurement unit on Monday and the first thing she asked to measure was a fruit by the foot.  It's three feet long by they way!

Bryce has become a master of a variety of rubiks cubes during quarantine.

The kids have not been inside a store since mid March.  Bryce is an internet shopper and has occasionally bought some things during quarantine.  Emmy tried her hand at internet shopping the other night and decided she wanted a cabbage patch kid doll.  They happened to have the doll she wanted in stock at Target so we did a pick up and she was so excited to have something new after being at home for so long.

We've had unseasonably cool and wet weather this spring.  The weather was forecasted to be nice on Wednesday so we took the day off from homeschool and headed to Farmville to ride bikes.

We had heard about the High Bridge Trail and wanted to check it out.

We rode almost 12 miles on the day.  Downtown Farmville was a nice halfway point to stop for a break.

The trail was flat with little elevation change so it was great for the kids.

The bridge was so fun to ride over with great views.

We ended up in downtown right around lunch time so we found a fun restaurant and ordered carry out.  Bryce did his daily zoom call with his class while we waited for our food.

Jason and I split a yummy burger and a beer.  We're getting really used to alcohol to go during quarantine.

My team at school had a zoom happy hour this week.  It was so good to see my colleagues.  Hopefully more will attend next week.

Thursday was very rainy, but the skies cleared in the evening so the kids were able to ride bikes.  They're favorite thing is to ride through the puddles.  Look at those cute water splashed faces!

We stepped up our happy hour game with some spicy pepper jelly on Friday night.  It was so good.

The kids made up a fishing game in the driveway and Jason made it even more real by getting the canoe out for them to play in.

The kids had planned a camp"in" tonight so we invited Nana over for s'mores on the fire to make it feel more like camping.

It was a little chilly last night so I was perfectly fine with an indoor campout instead of a real outdoor campout!

They played games and had the best time.  Bentley even spent the night with them!  We're making such fun memories during quarantine.
