mother's day

I had a great Mother's Day weekend. My Mother's Day present was getting Bryce's bedroom finished and him all moved in and an umbrella and stand for the deck table. I will post pictures of Bryce's room after I hang a few more things and when the umbrella gets here (we had it shipped because our store was out of stock). Today we went to lunch with Jason's family to celebrate with his mom and then we had my family over for dinner to celebrate with my mom. It was a great day!
We had hoped to go to Maymont like we did last year and get an annual Mother's Day picture, but we had errands to run after Bryce's nap so we took him to a local park instead. It was a very windy day!

Here we are last Mother's Day. Just look at those tiny little feet. It is so unbelievable the difference a year makes.

Bryce looked like such a big boy today in his striped polo shirt.

Bryce falls more and more in love with the pool everyday.

cousinly love

Chase came over to play this morning and we took the boys to "Operation Cow Drop" at the county airport. It was basically a small fair. The boys were not big fans of the fire trucks, planes, characters, or any of it really, but we took them thinking they would enjoy the petting zoo. It took them a while to warm up to the animals. They both liked the ducks, but Bryce was afraid of the larger animals and the "pettable" animals. We did get Chase to pet a baby pig though!

This picture was taken when we first got there. Chase grabbed Bryce's hand and led him around. I thought it was the cutest thing!

just an ordinary day

This boy loves to eat........if you give him what he wants. He is still not a big fan of meat and veggies, but he does love any type of bread, cracker, and fruit. Here he is snacking this afternoon. This was BEFORE he dumped the entire bag into Macy's food bowl. UGH!!
Thank goodness for SLR cameras. I think this is the first time Bryce has looked at the camera AND smiled in a long time. I was quick to snap this shot of my sweet brown eyed boy!

I don't have a picture of this, but ever since we moved to the new house, Bryce has learned how to put his dirty clothes in his laundry basket. It is just too cute. Forgive me if I have already blogged about this, but he was putting his clothes away tonight and it made me wonder if I had ever blogged about it.

house saga

For those of you still keeping up with our house saga, we have yet to close on the old house. I'm really not even sure I know the whole situation anymore. What I do know is that the buyer's bank will not sign off on anything that states there is a problem or could someday be a problem with the well/water. All tests currently show that the water is perfectly safe. We just need all parties involved to state that the water is fine and not mention anything about the future. We have been given the run around for months now and we are no closer to closing and we aren't really sure we will ever close with these buyers and their type of loan. We are so tired of dealing with this headache because all the other everyday happenings (like Bryce being sickish and our credit card number getting stolen) are enough to keep us busy. Hopefully our luck will turn up in this situation one day soon and we will be rid of this phase in our life.

playing in the dirt (and eating a few rocks)

This is when you know it's time to go home (click on the picture to make it bigger and you will see the dirt paste on his face). We headed home for a bath after this!

party day

Bryce is just too cute in the mornings. He used to say "more" when he was ready to eat breakfast, but he has been learning the word breakfast recently. Today we were playing in the playroom and Bryce was walking around repeating the word breakfast. I couldn't really tell what he was saying, but Jason was sure it was breakfast. He had waffles this morning. His new favorite. We decided to have breakfast on the deck this morning.
Today was a day full of birthday parties. Bryce doesn't normally get a full morning nap on Sundays because we have to wake him up in time to go to church. And not only was he going to get a short morning nap today, he wasn't going to get an afternoon nap. But despite the napping situation, he was a great sport today. Here he is waiting to go to the baseball game.

I just loved the shirt he wore today. It was the body of a baseball player with a little neck sticking up and Bryce's head was supposed to complete the person. I couldn't get a great picture because Bryce was doing what all baseball fans should be doing at a game, eating!

This is Bryce's friend Charlie. We went to the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball game to celebrate his 1st birthday. Bryce enjoyed sharing his snack with Charlie. I didn't get a good picture, but Bryce would take the food out and hand it off to Charlie. It was too cute!

It was very hot today, but we were able to get seats in the shade and there was a nice breeze blowing. We stayed for about an hour and a half, but Bryce was just too sleepy since he missed his nap. Here he is on the way home. He normally doesn't go back to sleep well when we take him out of the car and put him in his bed, but today he was out like a light.

Once Bryce was refreshed, we headed over to Kelly and Dave's to celebrate Chase's 2nd birthday. Bryce loves the tunnel.

Bryce couldn't wait to give Chase his present. I guess I wrapped it too early in the week and it has been tempting Bryce all week. He couldn't wait for Chase to open it. Here he is trying to give it to him.

Chase wasn't ready to open it so Bryce just made sure it didn't go anywhere. Bryce got Chase golf clubs just like his!

The best part of any party is the cake and ice cream!

Bubbles

Bryce can't wait to go back to Kelly's and play with Chase's new toys tomorrow!

clean up

Bryce is already learning to pick up after himself. He kept himself busy for a good 10 minutes this afternoon just dumping out the markers in the mug and putting them back in. He was very serious about his work!

belly

Bryce has quite a belly on him. He got water all over his shirt while we were playing at the water table this afternoon so I let him run around without it. I made the comment to him to "look at that big old belly". He then pinched some belly fat, ha!

He was still quite obsessed with his belly so he had to sit down and get a closer look!

Jason had softball games tonight so we decided to go out and support the team. I know everyone would love a picture of Bryce actually looking at the camera, but he just won't do it.

Bryce and Da-Da. I'm pretty sure he will be calling him Daddy soon. When we were playing in the garage this afternoon I told Bryce he couldn't play with Daddy's toys and he said "Dad-dy".

14 months

Bryce is 14 months old today! Just so hard to believe.
We feel like he is such a smart little boy. He can repeat or try to repeat just about any word we ask. He also recognizes many things and can name them on his own. I think he is finally getting his 5th tooth. He has gotten very good at saying Chase's name and he is always excited to play with him.

Bryce and Chase spent the afternoon at MeMaw and PaPa's house and had tons of fun. When we picked him up, he and Chase were wearing matching pajamas. They got dirty digging for worms so they had to take a bath and MeMaw had these cute pjs ready for them!

We took Bryce for a wagon ride when we got home. I love how he had his feet propped up and he was just relaxing with his cup in his hand!

We bought Bryce some golf clubs this weekend. He thinks they are bats. He will say club when we correct him, but he still thinks they are bats.

water table

Jason went out with the guys tonight so Bryce and I had a fun night at home. We ate dinner out on the deck and enjoyed Bryce's picnic table from MeMaw and PaPa. It even has a cute umbrella for when the sun is out.

He would really rather drink from my water cup than eat or drink anything of his own!

Bryce has been enjoying the big rake that Jason used to clean up bush trimmings earlier in the week. He get so frustrated because it is too big and he can't move it when it gets stuck in the grass. I went out tonight and got him a rake that is more his size.

I have been wanting to get Bryce a water table. I figured now would be a good time since it is warm outside and it won't matter if he is soaked. I'm thinking that a little warmer weather and a bathing suit might be better, ha!

Bryce really wanted to get in the water. I guess it looked like a tub to him and he LOVES the tub and bath time.

He also enjoyed tasting the water, too!

What a great start to the weekend!
