it's a bird! it's a plane!

We had hoped to go to DC today to visit the National Zoo since Jason was off, but it turned out to be cold and rainy so we decided to find something to do closer to home and inside!  We headed out to the airport to the Virginia Aviation Museum.

The first thing we came to was a plane you could get in and pretend to fly.  We visited this on the way in and the way out!

They had a couple of flight simulators that Jason and Bryce tried out.

There were even a few hands on things that Bryce could push buttons on and watch the wings move.

I think Jason had just as much fun as Bryce!

Checking out all the model airplanes.

No trip to a museum is complete without a stop by the gift shop.  Bryce picked out his very own airplane!

another fun day

Today we went to the park!

 Sliding

 Climbing

 Peeking

He also did a lot of running, swinging, driving, and hanging while we were there.

It was just another great day with my boy!

"If I could make a livin' out of lovin' you"

If only I could make a living out of loving this little boy, I would never have to go to work again!  We had so much fun today.  Bryce has been asking about Candy Land for a while now so we picked it up while we were grocery shopping this morning.  He was well entertained while I put the groceries away.

We spent the majority of our day outside!  Bryce picked out his own outfit today.  He loves this shirt because it has a train on it.  He refers to it as his "All Aboard to Grandmas" shirt which I think is hilarious, one because that is what it says, but two because he doesn't call any of his grandmothers grandma. He also chose his Thomas bathing suit and "crops" with socks.

Bryce enjoyed helping me water the grass seed this morning with the hose so when Jason got home I thought Bryce would enjoy playing in the sprinkler while we watered some more.  Not.So.Much!

I tried to convince him to run through with me.  This was "on your mark, get set."

He didn't "go" so I picked him up and we ran through the water.

OK.  We ran near the water.

 We still got wet!

Whenever Bryce gets his hair wet he asks if we can make it spiky like Chase's.

He was much happier when we cut the sprinkler off and let him play with the water on his own terms!

shopping

I did a little shopping sans Bryce today and it was SO fun.  I just went to Target, but it was fun and successful nonetheless.  I have forgotten what it's like to actually browse through clothing racks rather than glance from the periphery because Bryce and the shopping cart are more than I have patience for.  I found this cute dress and decided it would be perfect for Easter.  I think it looks more turquoise in person than it does in the picture.  I'm really into dresses with pockets.  Is that weird?  I don't normally buy an Easter dress, but always wish I did by the time Easter Sunday rolls around and I don't have anything new and different to wear.  I figured it was worth the $23 dollars and I can wear if to school and such.

hello spring break

Spring break is off to a great start despite the rain!  We headed to Bass Pro Shop this morning and Bryce enjoyed testing out the 4-wheelers.  Luckily we were in and out of the store before the Easter Bunny arrived.  Bryce still isn't too sure about holiday characters!

The red one was more his size.

We met Aiden for lunch at Chick Fil A.  His mom and dad were busy today so another couple in our small group was watching him for the day so they met us for a lunch/play date.  Bryce tried getting him to go down the slide, but he never made it to the top of the stairs!

After the storms subsided, we headed out for some ice cream.  Sweet Frog is our absolute favorite.  We can't wait until they open the new store right down the street!

When we got home, Jason and Bryce had fun dropping a parachute army man down the stairs and watching him land!

Hope everyone had a great day!

muscles

You may remember THIS post.  When I went back to find it I noticed that I had chosen the same title for today's post!  Bryce wore a Chase hand me down today which was a crowd pleaser (at least in DaDa's opinion).  This was the best picture I got where you could actually read the shirt.  "These puppies are illegal in 47 states".

This is Bryce's new way of posing for pictures.  He either closes his eyes or turns away.  You can tell by the grin on his face that he totally knows what he is doing......stinker!

Showing off his muscles, guns, puppies.....whatever you call them!

3 more days until spring break!

it doesn't get much better than this

Oh how I love spring!  Despite having to go to work today, this day could not have been more perfect.  I made sure I left work on time today so I could get a pedicure (since I started sporting some open toed shoes today).  When I was done, I picked up Bryce and we spent the rest of the evening outside!

Steven, this post is for you! Check out his blog if you are a lover of all things seafood!  It was a perfect night to grill out and eat on the deck.  I skewered up some shrimp (drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with Old Bay and lemon pepper) and Jason grilled while I fixed some yellow rice and sugar snap peas.  My photography skills leave little to be desired, but here is my tasty spring meal.

Bryce jumps at the opportunity to have a "picnic" outside.  He ended up sitting with us at the "big boy table" and entertained us with his numerous styles of laughter.

Bryce asked if we could go on a wagon ride after dinner, so that we did!

He's going through a phase where he would really rather pull the wagon than ride in it!

Then he decided he would rather walk with DaDa and Macy.  I just love my boys to pieces!

If everyday could be like this!

I've been a picture taking slacker

Bryce wore some Bob the Builder pajamas last night that Chase had handed down.  This morning when he got up he went straight to his closet and put on his "Bob the Builder boots".

Last night we went to Aiden's 2nd birthday party.  The boys really enjoyed the chocolate cake.

Aiden got a Thomas bike for his birthday.  He was nice enough to let Bryce have a turn!

In other news, only 5 days stand between me and spring break.  I CAN'T wait!

it doesn't get more random than this

We have had a great weekend and it isn't over yet.  We are headed to a wedding this afternoon, but I decided to go ahead and post my random pictures I took this weekend.

I'm slowly getting the dining room together.  The newest additions are the chandelier and medallion on the ceiling and a buffet lamp.  Unfortunately the store where I got the lamp only had one in stock and doesn't look like they will be getting more.  I have put Jason on an internet search to find me one!

I'm not sure I have every blogged about Bryce's room at the new house.  The colors are exactly the same from the other house.  The only difference in his new room is the ABC picture hanging on the wall.  He had more windows at the other house, which I liked, but this room has more space!

We had 3 couples from our small group over last night to watch the VCU game.  I made this yummy brownie trifle (technically it's black and yellow).  It was good we had a yummy dessert to drown our sorrows when they lost the game!  Still proud of the accomplishment they made this season!

Bryce and Aiden

Aiden is the son of one of the couples in our small group.  Bryce looks forward to playing with him on Thursday nights and at church on Sundays.  He was really excited to get to play with him on a Saturday.  The other night when Bryce was praying before bed I asked him to tell me something he loved and he said "Aiden".  So he prayed "Dear God, thank you for Aiden, amen".  Too cute!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
