OBX

Our first family vacation was pretty successful. We loaded up the car and left early Thursday morning. Bryce slept the whole way there! He did pretty well on the beach the first day, but had some crying spells followed by some napping (I think he was still getting over his shots). Thursday night was kind of rough. Bryce normally sleeps for a 7 hour stretch then wakes up to eat and then goes back to bed. However, NOT on vacation. He went to bed about 8:30 which is normal. He woke up at 12 which sometimes happens, but nothing a pacifier can't fix, except on vacation! I was so worried that his crying was going to wake up the other 15 people in the house so I knew feeding him would be the only way to quiet him quickly. He ate and went back to bed, no problem..........until he woke up again at 3. Again, feeding him would be the only way to quiet him quickly and not disturb the peace in the house. When he woke up AGAIN, 3 hours later, we gave up. We ran quickly out of the house with him and took him on a walk in order to let the rest of the house get some sleep. We almost packed up and went home Friday until everyone assured us they did not hear Bryce. We were glad we stayed because the next few days were much more peaceful and very relaxing.
Here he is in his cute little hat (which is impossible to keep on his head). I somehow managed to delete all the pictures of him in his sunglasses and his entire beach outfit before I downloaded them to the computer :( You will have you wait until the next beach vacation for sunglasses.
You can't go to the beach without getting your feet wet. I think Bryce went in deeper than me, ha! I hate the ocean. Hopefully Bryce will enjoy the water so his daddy can have a playmate.

Bryce and Chase at the beach.

Bryce had quite the set up. We put the bouncy seat in the sun dome. What a way to nap!

Bryce enjoyed long naps on the beach.

Jason caught a few fish which is rare for his Nags Head fishing experiences.

Our first family portrait since Bryce was born.

4 months

Bryce will be 4 months old tomorrow. We went to the doctor today for his check up and shots. He weighs 13 pounds 13 ounces. We had guessed he would weigh 15 pounds going by the rate he gained weight at the other check ups. Boy were we wrong. He looks like he weighs more than 13 pounds, but I guess the scale doesn't lie (I sure do wish it would sometimes, ha!). The doctor said he is in the 90th percentile for weight, but I don't see how that is possible. He is 25 inches long, which puts him at about the 75th percentile for height. Bryce was a pretty good patient today. He screamed when he got the shots and it took him a while to calm down, but then he slept(in my arms) all afternoon and was as happy as he could be this evening. I just hope they don't affect him tomorrow once we leave for the beach. Sorry I don't have a picture to go along with this post, but getting us all ready for the beach has taken all of my energy. I will post some when we get home. See you in a few days!

Swimming

We took Bryce over to Kelly and Dave's on Saturday so he could swim in Chase's pool. We didn't have his bathing suit with us so we just stripped him down. He seemed to enjoy the pool, but the water was a little chilly. We're going to the beach on Thursday so hopefully we will have some bathing suit pictures next weekend!

Who needs toys when you have toes

Bryce has just recently found his feet/toes and started grabbing them. He really wants to put them in his mouth but it squeezes his belly too much and he chokes himself up, ha!

Smile

It doesn't get much better than this!

Father's Day

Jason definitely did better with Mother's Day than I did with Father's Day, but I hope he still had a good day. We started the day with presents. We got daddy a hammer drill with a carrying case. As you can see, Bryce fits nicely in the case. I had a fun activity planned for us to do as a family, but we didn't get to it. I got Jason camouflage tie dye paint, a t-shirt, and a onesie so we could make matching shirts for the boys. If we ever get around to it, I will post pictures of the final product. We went to church for the Father's day breakfast and we had a delicious meal. After lunch at CiCi's for the youth fundraiser, we went to MeMaw and PaPa's house for cake and ice cream for Jason's birthday (which is tomorrow). The rest of the day kind of slipped away with nothing eventful. Maybe we will make it up to daddy tomorrow for his birthday.
Jason had the idea of putting Bryce in the bag!

Here is a view from the top!

Jason and Bryce wore coordinating outfits but it is hard to tell in the picture.

Fun in the Exersaucer

We put the exersaucer together this weekend! We tried it out for the first time tonight. Bryce is still a little small for it, but he fits well when we put a towel in front of him and behind him. I took this video of him because he was just too cute. You would have thought he had played in it before because he knew just what to do.

Bryceman

I have been waiting so long (well 3 months seems like a long time) to get a picture like this. Bryce is rolling over onto his belly all the time now. His little neck has gotten so much stronger and now he can pick up his head and hold it up long enough for me to capture ADORABLE pictures of him. I just love this picture!

The weekend wouldn't be complete without posting pictures of Bryceman.

Wedding Weekend - Part 2 - The Big Day

I tried really hard to be a good photographer this weekend and get pictures of everything. Turns out I did better at the rehearsal than at the wedding, but I did get a few good ones. The wedding was wonderful, the bride was beautiful, and a great time was had by all.

We started the day with hair and NO make-up, ha!

We cleaned up nicely by the end of the day!

We both enjoyed being in the wedding and celebrating this special day with two great friends!

Rolling Over

Bryce reached a MAJOR milestone today!! He rolled all the way over today. He started on his back and rolled to his stomach and then rolled to his back...........a complete roll. We are so excited and proud! I attempted to take a video, but it wasn't great. Hopefully he will do it again tomorrow and I can post it.

Guess Who?

We were out shopping tonight and we ran into MeMaw at Party City. Jason found these toy glasses while we were standing around and decided to put them on Bryce. Bryce didn't seem to mind so we were able to get a picture on Jason's cell phone.
