Bryce Update

Sorry for the lack of information the last day or two, but the internet at the hospital was down all day yesterday, so we were unable to work on the blog. Here is the current situation; as of last night Bryce still had a 100.3° fever. They will not release him until he has been without a fever for 24 hours. This means that he will not be released until Sunday morning at the earliest. As of this morning, his fever had subsided to a cool 99.3°, so we are still on track to come home tomorrow. They officially discharged Grace yesterday, but were kind enough to let us stay overnight last night to be with Bryce. However, as of this morning, there was no room left in the inn, so we were forced to move to a room outside of the Labor and Delivery area. This means that we cannot take Bryce down to our room with us. This really stinks, because now we have to go up to the nursery if we want to see/feed him. We are currently at home (luckily we live 2 minutes from the hospital), but will be leaving any minute to go back up there for his afternoon feeding. This day has been hectic, but much more positive than yesterday. Also, since this is Jason working on this blog entry while Grace works in time for a shower, I can post my favorite picture of Bryce. This is the picture I sent out to everyone I work with. I have already received very colorful comments from some of the most important people at ITAC. I am sure Grace is slightly embarrassed, but I love it.

Bryce is finally here. We had a fairly smooth delivery. I had a fever at the end that could have caused some problems for Bryce, but they are monitoring him and he is doing great. He is a sweet boy and he doesn't cry much, YET! We took a lot picture of Bryce, but most of them had me or Jason in them. After the day yesterday, I can assure you no one wanted to see me in any of those pictures. This picture is Jason's personal favorite because you can see his "alien head". We will surely take more pictures of him today when we get to spend more time with him.

Greetings From the Hospital

Here I am.......all settled in. Unfortunately the internet at the hospital blocks most websites. We can check and send email though. Thanks to Beth we are able to get you these updates. We will send a text when the baby gets here. We will try and get emails out and hopefully another blog entry soon after he arrives.

Moving In

Here I am........packed and ready to go! Who knew 2 people could need so much for a 3 day stay in the hospital. We needed the camera and computer so we could blog from the hospital.

Last Family Photo B.C. (before children)

We took Macy over to my parent's house tonight. She is going to play with her "girlfriends" as we call them (Abi and Ginger). We decided to take one last picture of the 3 of us. Next time you see us we will be 4 instead of 3. This is our last post from home before Bryce comes. We will post from the hospital as soon as we get settled in.

39 Weeks

I will post a picture later! No change from last week.......I'm still only 1 cm. The doctor said they will probably have me come in around 3 on Tuesday and get things going and that he would see me bright and early Wednesday morning. I told the doctor that I told Jason he couldn't bring his game boy to play while he waited. I don't want to look like children having children. The doctor said then he is a child delivering a child because he has a game boy in his office! I'm wondering if he will feel sympathy on Jason and bring him his game boy when he come to see us! Only 1 more day of work and I couldn't be happier. I'm not going to miss the yearbook, my job as team leader, or a few select students! We will keep everyone posted through email, texts, and the blog. We're very excited!

No Progress.............but, Big News

So I had my 38 week check-up today. My blood pressure was fine and the baby's heartbeat was fine. I'm only 1 centimeter, but I've got a 7.5 to 8 pound baby inside of me!!! The doctor said this is one we definitely don't want going to 41 weeks. So he suggested we induce. I'm still due on the 26th, but my doctor is scheduled for labor and delivery for the 25th. He said he wants me to come in the night of the 24th "to get me ready" and then he will induce on the 25th. So unless I am early, everyone can make plans for their day off to come see us!!

Too Cute

We got our first gift with Bryce's name on it. One of my students gave me these adorable towels today. I told Jason now we just need a new house with another bathroom so we can decorate it and display the towels!!

Go Red

I wore my red today for "go red for women" day. This is probably my least favorite maternity shirt, but it fit the theme of the day and I needed a picture for the weekly update. Enjoy!

37 Weeks

I forgot to take a picture today, and I even had on a cute outfit. I will try and remember to do that tomorrow. I went to the doctor again today. On Tuesday my back/butt started hurting every time I put weight on my left foot. I told the doctor today and he said, "you poor soul, at least you have had a good pregnancy up until now" (I didn't remind him about the 10 weeks of morning/all day sickness). He didn't seem to be too worried about the pain so I didn't bother asking for drugs. I will just keep limping down the halls until my leg/back give out. I tried the heating pad last night, but it didn't really seem to do any good. He did say I have dilated about 1 centimeter. We are slowly starting to make some progress. I'm hoping he comes a little early so he isn't too big, but I'm hoping he doesn't come too early because my sub plans are still a work in progress. My choice date would be February 21 or 22. I go back next Friday!

Birth Date Pool

The picture isn't very clear, but here is the birth date pool I did with my students. Teachers have started to add their names to the calendar too!! One of the student teachers at our school asked who he needed to give his $5 to. Hehe!! Too bad we can't put money on it!

The Big Reveal

We finally decided on a name.....with time to spare! We even had time to order letters and get them on the wall before he gets here. I started a non-monetary pool today with my students. We made a big calendar on chart paper and the students wrote their name on the date they thought Bryce would be here. Valentine's Day seems to be the most popular date. I would be satisfied with that because then we would have a reason to celebrate Valentine's Day around here! For those of you who don't know, we don't celebrate Valentine's Day at our house because "it's a stupid holiday that women made up to get cards, candy, flowers, and jewelry". I'll try and remember to take my camera to school and get a picture of the calendar because it really is cute!
